    Abstract: Disclosed are liquid compositions, such as liquid detergent compositions, having an improved thickening system. In certain embodiments, this invention relates to liquid automatic dishwashing detergent compositions having an improved thickening system. The thickening system is based on a polyacrylate polymer thickener and an alkali metal silicate having mixed in an alkali metal aluminate with a molar ratio of aluminum metal to SiO2 of less than 0.01:1.
