  • Patent number: 8914001
Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for sending and receiving user-authored information between one or more wireless mobile devices regardless of device vendor or model. The present invention has several practical applications in the technical arts including wireless telephones, personal digital assistants (PDA), or external storage devices. User-authored information such as contacts, telephone numbers, calendar events, electronic messages, or Internet preferences are converted to a file of extensible markup language (XML) and transmitted to an alternate wireless mobile device or storage device.

  • Patent number: 8526876
Abstract: A method and system are provided for determining a location of a satellite radio receiver and directing advertisements to the satellite radio receiver based on its current location. The current location of the satellite radio receiver is determined through communication with a wireless mobile device and a wireless communications network where the wireless mobile device is located in close proximity to the satellite radio receiver. Once a location is determined, a database of satellite radio advertisements is searched to identify advertisements directed towards a specific location, and these advertisements are transmitted to the satellite radio receiver across a satellite radio network.

  • Patent number: 8213968
Abstract: A method and system for distributing messages to mobile stations operating in a picocell network that is communicatively coupled to a macrocell network. In one example, the macrocell network may receive a message that includes an identifier of the picocell network and send the message to the picocell network. In turn, the picocell network may receive the message, responsively identify each mobile station operating in the picocell network, and then send a given instance of the message to the identified mobile stations. In another example, a macrocell network may maintain data indicating an identifier of each mobile station operating in the picocell network, receive a message that includes an identifier of the picocell network, use the maintained data to identify each mobile station operating in the picocell network, and send a given instance of the message to the identified mobile stations via the picocell network.

  • Patent number: 8184811
Abstract: In a digital content management system, a mobile device determines whether it is authorized to use digital content by sending, to a service provider, a hash value that has been pre-stored in the mobile device and that is associated with the digital content. The hash value is generated by combining a user identifier, among other data, into a combined hash. The other data included in the combined hash may be, for example, a service provider key unknown to the user, and a hash of the protected content. A telecommunications service provider, such as a service provider of a CDMA wireless network, determines whether the hash value is valid and, accordingly, whether the mobile device is authorized to use the digital content.
