  • Publication number: 20010046409
Abstract: A connector assembly for securing a device such as a cell phone to a mounting surface to provide a full range of motion. The connector has a base plate rotatably connected to a pivot arm. The upper end of the pivot arm supports the device or a holder for the device. The rotatable connection comprises engageable gear rings having a low tooth profile which will “slip” in the event of a severe impact for safety and to prevent breakage. In a preferred embodiment, the connector gear rings are of a material having some flexibility to assist in providing slippage.

  • Publication number: 20010024904
Abstract: A connector for cable management. The connector has a housing with an electrical connector to which a cable is connected. The cable exits the housing through a slidable cursor which allows the user to direct the cable toward an interface location to reduce strain on the cable and to lessen interference and entanglement with the user and other cables and components.

  • Patent number: 5850612
Abstract: A portable wireless communications device such as a telephone handset having a vertically corrected antenna module pivotally secured to the handset for rotation about a first pivot axis. The antenna module can be rotated into a predetermined orientation, independent of handset orientation. An antenna mounted on the module is oriented vertically when the module is in the predetermined orientation. When the antenna module is rotated for use, a mechanism incorporated in the module support structure automatically rotates the antenna module about a second pivot axis which is substantially perpendicular to the first. This second rotation places the antenna at an angle that compensates for tilting of the handset during use about an axis parallel to the second axis, or along the first.

  • Patent number: 5799340
Abstract: A uni-sex water conserving urinal which has a bowl which is engageable with a hanger on or near the toilet. A flush plate directs water into the bowl. In use, the bowl is detached and moved to a position of use which is permitted by the flexible waste and water supply line. The water supply is from a reservoir in the hanger. The reservoir may include a pump for manually pressurizing the flushing water. Flush water may be supplied by manually filling the reservoir or by connecting the reservoir across a valve to a water supply. A universal connector may be used to connect the waste line from the bowl into an existing drain line.

  • Patent number: 5778575
Abstract: A garment hanger with hook adapted to receive a size tab. A portion of the hook includes a formed region or tab receiving web preferably with an opening, and adapted to hold a foldable size tab thereon. The tab receiving web may be formed to protect the edges of the tab thereon. The foldable size tab includes first and second arms which are joined by a living hinge arrangement, preferably molded integrally, which allows the size tab to be molded flat and then folded on the web of the garment hanger to allow attachment of the size tab to the web. The size tab may be formed with three panels joined by a pair of living hinges to provide three viewing surfaces for the sizing indicia or other information.

  • Patent number: 5704578
Abstract: For adjustably mounting an enclosure such as a loudspeaker to an architectural mass such as on a wall, a ball-and-socket swivel mounting mechanism is enclosed within a rear region of the enclosure, thus eliminating unsightly conventional external swivel-mounting apparatus. A mounting ball, at the end of a shaft cantilevered to the wall, enters the mounting mechanism through a circular opening in a central region of the rear panel of the enclosure. The ball is clamped between a fixed jaw and a movable jaw actuated by an adjusting screw via which the jaw-clamping force can be applied, adjusted and released by a tool inserted through an opening in the front of the enclosure and directed by an internal guide tube to engage the adjusting screw; thus all installation, orientation adjustment, clamping in place and removal of the enclosure can be performed conveniently from the front of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5575020
Abstract: A water conserving urinal for use by both sexes which has a bowl which is engageable with a hanger on or near the toilet. A flush ring directs water into the bowl. In use, the bowl is detached and moved to a position of use which is permitted by the flexible waste and water supply line. The water supply may be the toilet tank reservoir or a municipal supply. The hanger may include a cover which contains the flush ring or the flush ring may be mounted at the bowl periphery and flushing automatically actuated when a cover associated with the bowl is moved to a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 5506730
Abstract: A flip-up helmet mount for a night vision goggle includes a plurality of nested relatively movable brackets, the first of which is secured to a user's helmet. A second bracket pivots relative to the first to provide flip-up motion for the night vision goggle, and a third of the nested brackets is pivotal on the second bracket to provide a tilt angle adjustment for the night vision viewer. In order to both save battery power, and to prevent the user from inadvertently revealing his position by forgetting to turn off the night vision viewer before flipping it up, the support structure includes a magnetic flux source cooperable with a magnetically-responsive switch of the night vision viewer to maintain the viewer turned on only when the viewer is in its use position.
