  • Patent number: 5262769
Abstract: A pager receiver includes an addressable data memory for storing sets of digital frequency data for application to a frequency synthesizer which responds to each set of frequency data to tune the pager receiver to a channel or frequency identified by the frequency data, and a process controller which controls both the storing in the memory of the frequency data identifying a plurality of channels or frequencies and the reading out of the frequency data one set at a time in sequence in searching for a paging signal being transmitted to the paging receiver.

  • Patent number: 5157405
Abstract: A hunting arrow tracking system includes a tubular housing removably connectable to an arrow shaft and enclosing a battery-powered transmitter. The batteries are disposed in a container in the housing which is spring biased against a piezoceramic transducer which generates a trigger signal in response to longitudinal acceleration or deceleration of the arrow to set a latch for connecting the battery to the transmitter, thereby causing it to transmit a low duty cycle pulsed signal. The transmitter is connected to a strip antenna which extends the length of the arrow shaft and is adhesively secured to the outer surface thereof. A directional receiver receives the transmitted signal and indicates the direction from which it is being received. The latch can be reset by passing a magnet over the arrow to activate a reed switch.

  • Patent number: 4187464
Abstract: To lock out certain channels in a scanning receiver, a counter in the scanning control circuit is manually stepped to the channel to be locked out and a signal is recorded in a memory at that point by depressing a switch while the memory is addressed by the circuitry which causes scanning. When the scanning circuit thereafter reaches the same channel, the address of that channel causes a readout from the memory which electronically inhibits the scanning of the locked-out channel. With minor modification, the circuitry may accommodate other electrically recorded switching operations such as band switching operations and priority operations.

  • Patent number: 4123717
Abstract: To program a scanning receiver for selected priority, a counter in the scanning control circuit is manually stepped to the channel to be selected for priority and that channel is indicated in a memory by depressing a program switch in the program mode while the memory is being addressed by the scanning circuitry. When the scanning circuit thereafter begins scanning, it returns to the established channel. A special weather and alert channel may be energized on the frequency set aside for weather warnings and emergencies by depressing a switch. This channel is continually sampled when the switch is in the energized position so that all such warning signals will be received.
