  • Patent number: 11945021
Abstract: A needle bending assembly configured to at least temporarily contain a needle can include a first housing section, a second housing section, and a coupling element coupled between the first housing section and the second housing section. The first housing section defines a first cavity configured to at least temporarily contain a first section of the needle. The second housing section defines a second cavity configured to at least temporarily contain a second section of the needle forming a distal tip. The coupling element is configured such that when the needle is contained within the housing sections, movement of the second housing section relative to the first housing section results in a bending of the needle at a location corresponding to the coupling element.

  • Publication number: 20230277009
Abstract: An automated pizza-making system builds and bakes a pizza according to a customer order. The system includes a pizza assembly route and a plurality of ingredient dispensing stations for dispensing ingredients onto the pizza along the route. The uncooked pizza is automatically transferred to the oven for cooking. After the pizza is cooked, the system automatically slices and boxes the cooked pizza. A motion translator places the closed pizza box containing the pizza in a storage locker for customer pickup. A computing device is operable to manage the orders, manage the cooking steps for preparing each order, controls each functional station to build, cook, box, and store the pizza, and notify the customer for pickup when the pizza is ready. Related methods are also described.

  • Patent number: 11014141
Abstract: Embodiments of assemblies used for bending spinal needles and method for producing bent spinal needles used in medical procedures are disclosed. In one embodiment, a straight needle is placed in position for a fulcrum to apply pressure onto a designated spot on the needle and apply a bending pressure to bend the needle while the needle is supported at both ends. A barrier wall is configured to limit the movement of the needle resulting from the bending force to prevent overbending of the needle. In two other embodiments, a dual angle bending member enables selecting the bending angle desired by the user to be applied onto the needle. The angle of the bent needle is considerably reduced due to metal relaxation; however, the angle reduction is predictable and is taken into account in calculating the target bending angle.
