Publication number: 20250199186Abstract: An embodiment provides convergent tracking for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals (e.g., binary offset carrier (BOC), etc.) in GNSS applications, such as positioning, navigation, timing, and guidance. The embodiment employs a situation-aware two-dimensional (2D) routing algorithm that provides fast convergence to stable tracking. Further, an embodiment may provide subcarrier phase ambiguity resolution that resolves carrier phase with assurance to support high integrity navigation, including high integrity real-time kinematic (RTK) applications. Moreover, an embodiment may provide tracking to more accurate subcarrier phase estimates. This may provide up to four times better ranging accuracy. Accordingly, an embodiment provides robust tracking performance of BOC signals under varying levels of dynamics, high jamming tolerance, more ranging accuracy, support for high integrity navigation, and support for high integrity RTK based positioning and high precision navigation and automatic landing.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: June 19, 2025Inventors: Shuwu WU, Robert Mason FRIES, Roy Michael GENTRY

Publication number: 20200056613Abstract: In a conventional screw compressor, two mating rotors which resemble screws are assembled in parallel with each other within a housing. These rotors are very costly to manufacture, and it is very difficult to extract all of the gas that has been compressed between the lobes of the rotor screws. This invention eliminates the twist of the lobes around the rotor of a conventional screw compressor. In this invention, the lobes are manufactured in line with the axis of the rotor (axially). As a result, the costs of manufacturing the rotors are reduced dramatically, and the natural tendency for the gas to be driven towards the center of the female rotor is taken advantage of, making it much easier to extract practically all of the gas that has been compressed between the lobes.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2018Publication date: February 20, 2020Inventor: Roy Michael Kies

Publication number: 20200036271Abstract: A strip of laminating steel for electric motors or generators is rolled over a mandrel in order to create an electric motor rotor or stator. The outside diameter of the mandrel determines the inside diameter of the roll, while the length of the strip determines the outside diameter of the roll. Slots for the insertion of magnet wire are either precut into the sides of the strip, or cut into the sides of the roll with metal working machinery after the roll has been wound. The slots can be created on one or both sides of the roll. Inserting magnet wire coils in these slots creates a rotor or a stator for an electric machine. A rotor surrounded by two identical stators with their stator windings facing the two rotor sides, or a stator containing slots on both sides which share one winding in its stator slots surrounded by two identical rotors comprise the main components.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2018Publication date: January 30, 2020Inventor: Roy Michael Kies

Patent number: 9462720Abstract: An aligning apparatus for mounting cards into a housing space is provided. The aligning apparatus includes a first line card having a mating portion and a card guide assembly coupled to the first line card. The mating portion is configured to mate with a backplane of the housing space. The card guide assembly varies from a first height at a first portion to a second height at a second portion. The varying heights correspond to an arrangement of components on a neighboring card. The first and second portions are configured to guide directional movement of the first line card in relation to one or more components on the neighboring card during insertion of the first line card into the housing space. In this regard, the first line card is guided past the one or more components on the neighboring card as the mating portion of the first line card is moved toward the backplane.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2014Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Jonathan David Beck, Kenneth Dale Shaul, Soheil Farshchian, Roy Michael Bannon
