    Abstract: The present invention comprises an endodontic instrument for preparing root canals in which the cutting surface has an increased taper greater than about 0.06 mm/mm. In the present invention, a plurality of files may be used in which each succeeding file has a minimum diameter substantially equal to the maximum diameter of the preceding file. By using the files of the present invention, a root canal may be prepared using a minimum number of files.
