  • Patent number: 11723433
Abstract: An injected footwear with internal complex graphic is a footwear apparatus that also is an easily manufacturable product. The footwear apparatus includes a sole, an upper, at least one complex graphic, and a sock liner. The sole is below the wearer's foot, while the upper covers the rest of the wearer's foot. The complex graphic integrates an aesthetically pleasing element for the footwear apparatus. The sock liner is used as an intermediate between the wearer's foot and the rest of the footwear apparatus. The complex graphic is internalized in between the sock liner and the upper. The upper and the sole are specifically made of the injectable molding material. A proximal portion of the sock liner is attached to the complex graphic, while the injectable molding material is bonded to a surrounding portion of the sock liner.

  • Patent number: 9781967
Abstract: A footwear with refractive internal illumination has a footwear, a translucent body and an illumination system. A translucent body refracts light at a first index, cavities refract light at a second index, the first index of light and the second index of light then reflect between the translucent body and at least one cylindrical elongated opaque strap, the at least one cylindrical elongated opaque strap then refracts the first index and second index of light to create twice refracted light, whereby the first index of twice refracted light internally illuminates the at least one cylindrical elongated opaque strap, and whereby the second index of twice refracted light appears as brighter points of light on the at least one cylindrical elongated opaque strap.

  • Publication number: 20170000208
Abstract: Twice-refracted light, produced by emitting light for refraction from a translucent body, reflection between said translucent body and an opaque section of an upper, and refraction again by the upper, is applied to footwear to create an enhanced internal illumination effect. To create this, at least one light source is connected to a power source and installed into a footwear. The light source is connected to the translucent body, where light is first refracted. The upper can be implemented as a cylindrical elongated strap or as an enclosed part of a footwear. Aesthetic designs can be incorporated into the upper by adding light-refracting sections to the upper, as well as through light-impermeable stencils. To enhance the refraction of light and ultimate brightness and intensity as observed by a person, refractive boundary sections can be incorporated to the translucent body. Further enhancements and alterations regarding the twice-refracted light remain possible.

  • Patent number: 9301574
Abstract: An illumination system is housed in a footwear, the footwear including a sole and an upper. An interfacing layer and a liner form inner interior layers connected to the upper. A plurality of illumination sources are electrically connected to a power source and positioned adjacent to the liner. The illumination sources are positioned between the liner and upper. The upper has a light diffusing section. The light emitted from the plurality of illumination sources is diffused as it passes through the light diffusing section of the upper. Aesthetic designs can be creating, either through the arrangement of the plurality of illumination sources or the provision of a light impermeable section on the upper. The light impermeable section, in combination with the light diffusion section, can be used to form or outline an aesthetic design. The result is an internally illuminated footwear with diffused light.

  • Patent number: 9265299
Abstract: The sole section of a shoe includes a midsole and an outsole which form a translucent sole section. The translucent midsole and translucent outsole are integrally molded with a translucent upper to create a fully translucent jelly footwear. An illumination system is located inside the translucent sole section, causing the jelly footwear to be internally illuminated when the illumination system is active. Due to the translucent nature of the midsole light from the illumination system reflects internally throughout the midsole, increasing illumination. The light will also illuminate the adjacent translucent outsole and translucent upper. Light from the illumination system can be blocked, such as by a colored mold injection, creating an illuminated design or logo. By blacking out or covering sections of the translucent outsole, shapes and letters of visible light can be created in the resulting negative space. This allows illuminated designs to easily be incorporated into footwear.

  • Publication number: 20140183071
Abstract: A shoe box is specifically designed to display a light-up footwear. The shoe box has a base, a lateral section, and a cover which create a footwear receiving volume in which the light-up footwear is placed. A viewing port on the lateral section allows a consumer to view the interior of the container, allowing them to see the light-up footwear in a dark environment. A visual instruction on the lateral surface next to the viewing port provides instructions on how to use the shoe box. Shaking the shoe box causes vibration which is detected by a trigger system of the light-up footwear. The trigger system activates an illumination system of the light-up footwear, allowing a consumer to see the full effect of the light-up footwear in a dark environment by looking through the viewing port.

  • Patent number: 8327561
Abstract: An internally illuminated footwear has a light source shining into a translucent component. Boundary sections are created in the translucent component and are arranged to create various visuals, such as designs and logos. The boundary sections are formed by cavities which cut into the translucent component. Abrasive surfaces may be added to the cavities, or replace the cavities and be added to the surface of the translucent component. The cavities may be filled with a boundary material. Bubbles can be formed within the boundary sections and the translucent component. Light waves originate at the light source and travel through the translucent component. Due to different refractive indices, a light wave will be refracted as it encounters cavities in the boundary sections. The refracting light wave will then appear to originate at the cavities. In this manner, the cavities will appear to have their own individual illuminating source.
