    Abstract: A circuit breaker enables selective left, right or a combination of both side connection to a power conductor, such as a cable or wire. Side connection eliminates the need for large radius U-bends of the power conductor that is normally required when using top connection circuit breakers. An electrically non-conductive cavity commonly defined by left and right sides of the circuit breaker housing receives the power conductor in a connector such as a lug. The circuit breaker may have a visualization window oriented to observe whether excessive cable is projecting out of the lug, so as to confirm compliance with electrical code over surface spacing requirements. In some embodiments, the circuit breaker lugs are vertically oriented above its front cover surface in a receptacle portion of the housing. The receptacle may be constructed for selective lug orientation in horizontal or vertical positions by the installer.

    Abstract: An implantable subcutaneous data port for transferring data received from a sensor implanted within a subject. The data port electrically connects to the sensor and includes a control circuit electrically connected to an access port. The control circuit includes a current loop transmitter which modulates a current loop signal with voltage outputs from the sensor. This current loop signal transmits through the access port to an externally located current loop receiver which converts the current loop signal into an output voltage. Needle electrodes are insertable through the skin of the subject to the access port and provide an electrical interface between the control circuit and current loop receiver.

    Abstract: A mechanism 25 for preventing a turbine rotor 14 exceeding a predetermined speed in the event that a shaft 24 connecting the turbine rotor 14 to a compressor rotor 12 of the engine breaks and releases its torsional and axial constraint on the turbine rotor. The mechanism 25 comprises a segmented nozzle guide vane assembly 26 downstream of a stage of the turbine rotor 14. Each of the segments 26 is pivotally mounted (hinge pins 40) on an outer casing 34 at a region adjacent a radially outer upstream end of each segment 26. The structure of the engine on which the radially innermost ends of the segments 26 are mounted includes a releasable means 46. When the structure 46 is struck by the turbine rotor 14 the innermost ends of the segments 26 are released and allowed to swing rearwards and outwards about the pivotal attachment of the segments 26 to the outer casing 34.
