  • Publication number: 20050161543
Abstract: A fishing reel with an integrated barometer sensor, a temperature sensor, and a weight sensor forming a sensorized fishing reel to enhance the fishing experience of an angler is disclosed. The sensorized fishing reel includes; an exterior housing supporting a display and enclosing the barometer sensor, the temperature sensor, the weight sensor as well as a controller. The controller selectively interacts with each sensor to obtain sensory readings provided by each sensor, and delivers the obtained sensory readings to the angler via the display.

  • Publication number: 20050133650
Abstract: A fishing reel with an electronics module enclosed by an exterior housing of the fishing reel is disclosed. The electronics module provides a watertight environment for a plurality of circuits. The circuits are useful to perform a variety of functions, including but not limited to determining a status of a fishing environment, controlling reel functions, or otherwise.

  • Patent number: 6267311
Abstract: A rotor assembly for a fishing reel, which rotor assembly includes a rotor having a first rotational axis, a bail assembly that is repositionable relative to the rotor between cast and retrieve positions, and a trigger that is movable relative to the rotor around a second axis between normal and actuated positions. The bail assembly is movable from the retrieve position towards the cast position as an incident of the trigger moving from the normal position to the actuated position. The trigger has a forwardly projecting leg. A gripping portion is applied to the forwardly projecting leg to facilitate engagement of the forwardly projecting leg by a user.

  • Patent number: 6237891
Abstract: A device for supplying an alternate gas fuel to a gas-burning apparatus such that the gas-burning apparatus will receive and burn the alternate gas fuel, the gas-burning apparatus being of a type intended to burn a gas fuel which is different from the alternate fuel and is supplied at a pressure substantially different from that of the alternate fuel. The inventive device comprises: an inlet coupling attachable to a discharge fitting provided on the alternate fuel container and an outlet coupling downstream of the inlet coupling and attachable to an inlet fitting provided on the gas-burning apparatus. When the pressure of the alternate gas fuel is significantly greater than that of the intended fuel, the inventive device preferably also includes a restricting element for restricting flow of the alternate fuel through the device from the inlet coupling to the outlet coupling.

  • Patent number: 6056220
Abstract: A fishing reel having a frame and an operating mechanism on the frame. The operating mechanism includes a line carrying spool, a rotor that is rotatable around a first axis relative to the frame, a bail assembly on the frame which is changeable between a cast position and a retrieve position, a rotor operator, and a drive train through which the rotor is rotatable around the first axis in response to operation of the rotor operator. The operating mechanism further includes a trigger that is repositionable relative to the frame between first and second positions. The trigger causes the bail assembly to be changed from the retrieve position into the cast position as the trigger moves from the first position into the second position. A trip link on the rotor is repositionable from a retracted position into an extended position as an incident of the bail assembly changing from the retrieve position into the cast position. A trip link actuator is repositionable between first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 5797554
Abstract: A fishing reel has a main body and a mounting assembly for connecting the fishing reel to a fishing rod. At least one cushion member is provided on the mounting assembly that has an exposed, compressible surface that is engageable by a user grasping the fishing reel with the fishing reel in an operative position on a fishing rod.

  • Patent number: 4907208
Abstract: A sonar transducer assembly for a fishing boat provides electrical signals corresponding to an image of the area surrounding the boat on both sides thereof based on sound echoes received by the transducer assembly. The transducer assembly comprises a transducer housing mounted on the transom of the boat so that the bottom surface thereof is at substantially the level as the hull of the boat in the normal position of the transducer housing, and such that the transducer housing can move rearwardly and upwardly in response to hitting an object in the water. The housing is generally bullet-shaped and houses a plurality of individual transducers directed in different directions away from the hull of the boat so as to provide scanning of areas of the water beneath and on both sides of the boat.
