  • Patent number: 4690383
Abstract: A panel rail system which features tampered glass panels of moderate thickness makes use of supporting rails at upper and lower edges of the panels. The rails are of round, tubular cross-sectional configuration with slots for reception of edges of the panels. A modular type system is utilized wherein posts for supporting the rails can be set in advance and are of such construction that they can accommodate in the field all of the varied mounting requirements of rails and panels.

  • Patent number: 4286372
Abstract: A tubular pipe rail jointing system consisting of posts and rails makes use of fittings on the posts providing sleeves into which ends of the tubular pipe rails are telescopingly received. For effective fabrication and erection it is preferable to cut the tubular pipe rails to proper length on the site. To assure a rugged installation, a dimple is pressed into the sleeve with a pressure punch of special construction. A cradle forming part of the tool fits around half the circumference of the sleeve while the punch under high pounds per square inch pressure is pressed progressively into the sleeve, at a point diametrically opposite the cradle, until material of the sleeve, deformed by the punch, is forced into a depression formed simultaneously in the end of the tubular pipe rail. The assembly described becomes interlocked by what has been termed a swedge lock.

  • Patent number: 4122631
Abstract: A pipe rail and gate system of uniform metal constituents and simple design utilizes extrusions to form accessory units such as hinges and stop plates to fit the pipe structure, the units being cut from the extruded sections. The shapes of the units and the expedients for fastening the units in place are blended in and function with the rail structure, outlines of the units and their working parts being confined within the dimensions of the rail structure with a minimum of protuberances.
