  • Patent number: 11759790
Abstract: Method for processing organic material is disclosed which breaks down the inedible components of fruit and vegetables (core, skin, pips, pithy material) into an edible substance with a cream-like consistency. The method includes pressurizing the material and forcing it through a passage having a number of end-to-end sections which are at right angles to one another. The material as it emerges from each section impacts on the impact surface at the end of each section and changes direction and flows into the next section of the series.

  • Patent number: 11310048
Abstract: Highly secure portable storage device may include a security controller, a data transfer controller and a memory controller. The security controller self-verifies, without a host, an access code. After the verification, the security controller may retrieve a concealed encryption key and a transformation key that were previously self-generated by the security controller. The encryption keys are not generated by the host, a user, or the memory controller. The transformation key is sent to the memory controller via a side channel during a first time period. The concealed encryption key is sent to the memory controller via the side channel during a different time period. After extracting an operating encryption key, the memory controller may notify the data transfer controller to initiate an enumeration process with the host. Data transfer from and to the host is performed via interfaces different from the side channel. Other methods and implementations are also described.

  • Patent number: 10744511
Abstract: Apparatus for processing organic material is disclosed which breaks down the inedible components of fruit and vegetables (core, skin, pips, pithy material) into an edible substance with a cream-like consistency. The apparatus includes a piston in a barrel for pressurizing the material and forcing it through a passage having a number of end-to-end sections which are at right angles to one another. There is an impact surface at the end of each section on which the flowing material impacts. The sections can be between a sleeve having sections of different diameters and a bobbin the outer surface of which is stepped to match the inner surface of the sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20130213245
Abstract: A pressure inducing device 10 for pressurizing a substance is provided. The device 10 includes a body 12, a pressure chamber 14 defined by the body 12 and an inlet 18 leading into the pressure chamber 14 through which inlet 18 a substance to be pressurized can be fed into the pressure chamber 14. A piston 22 is arranged to travel along the pressure chamber 14 to pressurize a substance in the pressure chamber 14. An outlet 20 leads from the pressure chamber 14. A blocking member 28 is arranged to open the outlet 20 after the substance has been pressurized in the pressure chamber 14 thereby to permit the pressurized substance to expel under pressure through the outlet 20 in response to opening the outlet 20.

  • Patent number: 8125627
Abstract: A spectroscopy system including first and second lasers. The first laser is triggered to induce a plasma, such as on a surface of a target at a stand-off distance from the target. The second laser stimulates amplified emissions from the plasma detected by one or more spectroscopes. The gain induced by the second laser detects traces of explosives and other substances on surfaces at stand-off distances. The spectroscopy systems use the same telescopic optics to collect emissions from the detection surface and activated at or just before the peak emission intensity useful for detecting element signatures and intensity ratios from the trace elements in the plasma.

  • Patent number: 7790941
Abstract: The invention concerns methods and systems for minimizing back-mixing of feedstock flow in converting oxygenates to olefins. In one embodiment, back-mixing is reduced by providing a reactor that includes baffles to reduce the hydraulic diameter of at least a portion of the reactor. Some or all of the baffles can also serve as cooling tubes for reducing temperature gradients in the reactor, and thereby maximize light olefin production.

  • Patent number: 4324084
Abstract: Cementitious material is applied to a mortar joint by the use of a center-wire axial brush. The brush is loaded with the material, placed in contact with the joint so that the longitudinal axis of the brush lies along the length of the mortar joint, and then drawn along the length of the joint thereby to apply the material along the joint in the form of a constant-width strip having sharply defined longitudinal edges.
