  • Publication number: 20120259916
Abstract: In one example a method includes: selecting, by a computing device, a message description that indicates a pre-defined operator is associated with a message data field; receiving, by the computing device, information associated with the message data field; responsive to determining that the information indicates the message data field does not include data, determining, by the computing device, whether to include, in a second message that is associated with the message description, a data value for the message data field of the second message based on the pre-defined operator that is associated with the message data field, wherein the data value is stored by the computing device and is associated with the message data field.

  • Patent number: 7306443
Abstract: A rotational moulding machine includes three mould manipulator arrangements and a rotatable carrousel on which the manipulators are mounted for indexed rotation between heating, cooling and mould loading stations. Each manipulator includes a rectangular frame, stub axles on the frame which are rotatable in supports on the carousel on a first axis, mould locating element in the frame which is rotatable on a second axis normal to the first and devices for manipulating a mould in the frame on both axes. The machine includes a crane beam over the carrousel which overlies the heating and cooling station positions on the carrousel, a heating chamber, a wall enclosure, and a crane for lowering the heating chamber and wall enclosure over manipulators on the carrousel at the heating and cooling stations and for lifting them clear of the manipulators to enable them to be indexed to the next station.

  • Publication number: 20070002496
Abstract: A coil support apparatus is provided that is configured for supporting a moveable coil within a magnetic field in a voice coil motor. The apparatus comprises a support arm with a characteristic cross section defining a first portion with a thickness related to a thickness of the coil for providing a mounting surface for attaching the coil. The support arm further defines a discontinuous second portion extending from the first portion in a direction away from the coil with a thickness substantially smaller than the first portion thickness. In some embodiments an actuator assembly is provided comprising a T-beam coil support.

  • Publication number: 20050078566
Abstract: In a data handling system having a radially-dependent track incongruity between data surfaces, at least some tracks are logically mapped so that tracks on different data surfaces correspond with one another. The correspondence is defined by the mapping so as to shorten an average headswitch seek. For example, a logical track mapping of first and second non-coaxial track sets can be defined so as to optimize a headswitch seek within each of many intermediate logical cylinders identified in the mapping.

  • Patent number: 5553144
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for selectively altering the functional characteristics of a data processing system without physical or mechanical manipulation. A data processing system is first manufactured having a predetermined set of functional characteristics. A multibit alterable code which includes a functional characteristic definition is then initially loaded into physically secure, nonvolatile memory within the data processing system, utilizing an existing bus, or a fusible link which may be opened after loading is complete. The functional characteristic definition is loaded from nonvolatile memory into a nonscannable register within a secure portion of a control logic circuit each time power is applied to the data processing system and the definition is then utilized to enable only selected functional characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5502400
Abstract: Electrical characteristics of the inputs to VLSI semiconductor chips can be modified after the chips are fabricated and mounted into multichip modules (packages), at which time the required characteristics are known accurately. The changes are accomplished by incorporating special circuitry at the chip inputs during their design combined with the use of `boundary-scan` type circuitry that has recently been put in place for device testing. The circuitry allows the impedance characteristics of the chip's receiver to be modified to match that of the driving source and the wiring interconnections between the chip and source. The test circuitry is used to provide the logical signals to selectively switch the circuits to the proper configuration. This enables optimally designed interconnections between the input and output circuitry on the chips and thereby avoids the necessity for costly re-designs.
