  • Publication number: 20180359011
Abstract: In a dense wireless environment with spatial diversity and with multiple access points (APs) and multiple users (STAs), a common network controller may be used to determine which AP-STA combinations can operate simultaneously over the same channel without interfering with other AP-STA combinations. Each STA associates with each AP in a way that derives directionality, signal strength, array weight vectors, etc., for that AP and then provides that information to that AP. Each AP collects similar information from every STA in the network, and forwards the collected information to a Central Controller, who uses the combined information from all APs to determine which AP-STA combinations may operate simultaneously without causing interference with each other.

  • Publication number: 20180160424
Abstract: Time Sensitive Networks (TSN) are networks that provide time synchronization and timeliness (deterministic latency and reliability/redundancy) guarantees to important or critical data flows. Traditionally, TSN applications have used wired connectivity (e.g., Ethernet TSN) for reliability. However, wiring has several limitations such as high maintenance cost, weight and limited mobility. Moreover, many TSN applications (e.g., Automotive and Industrial control) could benefit from enabling TSN-grade (wired) performance over a wireless network, i.e., a wireless TSN (WTSN) as discussed herein.

  • Patent number: 9698889
Abstract: A technology that is operable to schedule data transfer for a multiple user multiple-input and multiple-output (MU-MIMO) communications network is disclosed. In one embodiment, an enhanced node B (eNode B) is configured with circuitry configured to receive a sounding signal from each of a plurality of user equipment (UEs). One or more major paths of the sounding signals from each of the plurality of UEs are determined. An angle of arrival (AoA) is determined that is associated with each of the one or more major paths. The plurality of UEs are grouped into one or more candidate MU-MIMO sets using the AoAs associated with each of the one or more major paths. Data transmissions are scheduled for one or more of the candidate UEs of the candidate MU-MIMO set on one or more of the major paths of each of the candidate UEs.
