    Abstract: The invention is a flag protection device mounted on the upstream edge of the flag which extends laterally outward from the plane of the flag a distance of one-twelfth the flag's width so as to deflect a portion of the airstreams outwardly into the free stream air so as to cause a degree of disturbance and thereby minimize the snapping effect along the flag's downstream edge.
