  • Patent number: 11226704
Abstract: Techniques for providing a virtual touch screen are described. An example of a computing device with a virtual touch screen includes a projector to project a user interface image and a depth camera to detect objects in the vicinity of the user interface image. The computing device also includes a touch service that receives image data from the depth camera and analyzes the image data to generate touch event data. The computing device also includes a User Input (UI) device driver that receives the touch event data from the touch service and reports the touch event data to an operating system of the computing device. The touch service and UI device driver are system level software that is operable prior to a user logging onto the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20210318727
Abstract: An example computing device comprises a processor to be coupled to a display device, and a boot controller coupled to the processor and to be coupled to the display device. The boot controller is configured to detect a power signal, receive sensor data detected by one or more sensors prior to an operating system being loaded by a boot process of the processor, determine a posture associated with the display device based on the sensor data detected by the one or more sensors, and communicate, to the display device, posture information indicating the posture associated with the display device. Pre-boot content is to be displayed on a display panel of the display device in a first arrangement based on the posture information. In more specific embodiments, determining the posture includes determining at least an orientation of the display device and whether a peripheral is present on the display device.

  • Patent number: 10958446
Abstract: System and techniques for secure wireless association are described herein. A station (STA) may transmit a probe request for the wireless network that includes identification of a certificate. An access point (AP) receiving the probe request may obtain the identified certificate and use the certificate to encrypt a key. The encrypted key may then be included in a beacon by the AP. The STA may then obtain the encrypted key from the beacon, decrypt the key with the certificate, and then use the key to associate to the wireless network via the AP.

  • Patent number: 10877559
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to a system to provide tactile feedback during non-contact interaction. A system may comprise at least display circuitry, sensing circuitry, tactile feedback circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry may cause the display circuitry to present a user interface. The sensing circuitry may sense when a body part of a user (e.g., a hand, a finger, etc.) is proximate to the user interface and may generate position data based on a sensed position of the body part. The processing circuitry may determine a relative position of the body part with respect to the user interface based on the position data, and may determine if the body part is interacting with the user interface based on the relative position. If it is determined that the body part is interacting with the user interface, the processing circuitry may cause the tactile feedback circuitry to generate directional feedback.

  • Patent number: 9396329
Abstract: Described herein are articles, systems, and methods for using a storage controller to protect secure data blocks through the enforcement of a read only policy. In some embodiments, the articles use a combination of hardware protections and software protections (e.g., virtualization) to protect a system against attack from malware while such secure data is updated. Also described are systems and methods for securely updating data blocks secured in this fashion, and detecting and preventing the corruption of data stored on secondary storage media using a disk eventing mechanism.
