Abstract: An apparatus for retrieving electronic mail messages via a wireless network. The apparatus comprises a gateway for sending an electronic mail retrieval reply message to a wireless device in response to receiving an electronic mail retrieval request message from the wireless device. The apparatus further comprises an application module. The application module has computer readable instructions. The computer readable instructions convert the retrieval request message into a format capable of transmission over an external computer network and the computer readable instructions convert the retrieval reply message into a format capable of transmission over a wireless network.

Abstract: Systems and techniques for providing telecommunications services by receiving a notification forwarded from a wireless device, the notification indicating that a voicemail message intended for a recipient associated with the wireless device was received. The voicemail message associated with the notifications is retrieved and forwarded to an alternate device associated with the recipient and/or converted into a text message representative of the content of the voicemail message.

Abstract: In general, in one aspect, one embodiment of the present disclosure features a message delivery method. The method includes the steps of receiving a message including delivery instruction and delivery information indicating a time at which the message is to be delivered to a communication device of a recipient; storing the message; and delivering the message to the recipient at a time indicated by the delivery information. Further, the delivery instruction and the delivery information are set by a sender of the message. Other embodiments are also provided.
