    Abstract: The present invention discloses enhancements for a follower within a magazine for an automatic rifle. The disclosed follower contains mechanisms that will (i) disengage the magazine from the automatic rifle once the last round has been removed from the magazine; (ii) minimize the amount of friction between the follower and the inner wall of the magazine; and (iii) detect if the automatic rifle has been breeched prior to disengaging the magazine from the automatic rifle. The disclosure also provides for a takedown pin that will have selectable positions to allow for a full breech, partial breech, and a normal firing mode.
