Abstract: An anchor device is utilized to locate the whipstock both longitudinally and rotationally in order to properly orient the whipstock prior to beginning the sidetrack operation. In order to hydraulically set the slips a hydraulically actuated piston in a hydraulic cylinder is pressurized to overcome a restraint such as a shear pin thereby releasing a spring that drives a second piston to force the slips radially outwards thereby setting the anchor. In certain instances the anchor may also be set down on a rod that is also attached to the hydraulic piston. By setting down on the rod the shear pin is also overcome which also releases the spring.

Abstract: An orifice fitting seal assembly is provided for use in an orifice fitting having a body structure defining a flow passage and opposed spaced sealing surfaces surrounding the flow passage. The improvement comprises a pair of internal seal rings of symmetrical configuration which cooperate to define a plate receptacle within which an apertured orifice plate is positioned. Each of the internal seal rings defines peripheral locking flanges that are disposed in spaced relation when the rings are in assembly. An external locking ring surrounds the assembled internal seal rings and establishes locking engagement therewith to retain the internal seal rings and the orifice plate in assembly. A pair of inner O-ring type sealing elements are retained within internal sealed grooves defined by each of the internal seal rings and the orifice plate.
