Abstract: A power generating mechanism installed on a wheelset equipped with a gearbox, the mechanism is designed to recharge batteries of refrigerated equipment, such as refrigerated wagons. The power generating mechanism has a transmission shaft having a grooved tip at one end and, at the opposite end thereof, a mechanical assembly with a drive pulley and a motor pulley interconnected by a toothed belt, which has a pair of tensioners. The motor pulley is connected to an electric power generating motor mounted on a structure external to the gearbox, which is split and composed of a housing and a cover for housing the drive pulley, the motor pulley and the tensioners. The model of the power generating mechanism aims to provide an efficient solution for generating electric power in semi-trailers.

Abstract: The device (2) uses the kingpin (6) of semi-trailers (1) to increase power efficiency and safety by detecting longitudinal forces to control acceleration, braking, and power regeneration with the help of load cells (7) or a hydraulic cylinder (19) with load transducer sensors (20), activating the electric motor during acceleration (A) and regenerative braking during deceleration (D). It can be integrated with systems such as EBS, TCS, and ESC. The device (2) is mounted on the semi-trailer friction plate (1) and sends information to the acceleration/regeneration controls. The device (2) contributes to optimizing vehicle performance, focusing on power savings and safety in transport operations.
