  • Publication number: 20060012068
Abstract: The toothed belt is produced in a moulding cavity, which is defined by a rotating moulding wheel and an endless moulding belt, which is also rotating. For this purpose, the moulding wheel has a channel defined by lateral cheeks, in the base of which are provided recesses, which correspond to the teeth of the toothed belt. The moulding belt surrounds the moulding wheel over a proportion of its periphery and engages the lateral cheeks at that point. The polyurethane, of which the toothed belt is to consist, is injected into the inlet of the moulding cavity. Upstream of the inlet, “lost cores” are introduced into some of the recesses in the moulding wheel corresponding to the teeth in such a manner that they are embedded all around in the polyurethane. After finishing the toothed belt the “lost cores” can be removed. Passages remain which can be used, for instance, for mounting fastening elements.

  • Patent number: 6491157
Abstract: The toothed belt has a band-shaped belt body which carries integrally formed teeth on one side. At least one of the teeth is provided with two openings which extend from the crown surface of the associated tooth through the toothed belt to the other side of the belt body and accommodate a respective retaining element in the form of a sleeve. The sleeves serve to clamp object mountings against the surface of the toothed belt. They each have a head, which is constituted by two projecting wings which are diametrically opposed to one another. The sleeves have a sufficient screw-in length for fastening the object mountings. They are also secured against being pulled through the material of the toothed belt and are rotationally fixedly mounted. Finally, their ends projecting out of the surface serve as centering projections. The sleeves ensure that there is no weakening of the teeth.

  • Patent number: 6142901
Abstract: A belt drive includes a toothed belt and a toothed wheel which have engaging tooth ribs and tooth grooves. The tooth ribs and the tooth grooves extend in an arcuate shape over the breadth of the toothed belt. The toothed wheel is of complementary construction. This results in automatic self guiding of the toothed belt with a high load bearing ability. The belt drive runs extremely quietly and with low vibration. This applies also to the case in which the belt runs tangentially over a support roller or runs round a support roller.

  • Patent number: 5041063
Abstract: A toothed belt where the crown surfaces of its teeth are to be disposed on the bases of gear wheel grooves is provided. In order to achieve a dampened, low-noise running-up of the toothed belt upon the gear wheel, as well as to achieve a free-of-play filling of the gear wheel grooves via the belt teeth in the direction of rotation as required for a reversible belt drive, embedded in the crown surface of each tooth belt is a crown piece made of a material that is elastically softer than the belt material. Viewed in the longitudinal cross-section of the belt, the crown piece extends essentially over the entire length of the crown surface of the belt tooth and protrudes from the crown surface in such a way that as the tooth runs up on the gear wheel, first the part of the curved outer side that protrudes the most strikes the base of the gear wheel groove, and subsequently this outer side is pressed flat against the groove by the belt tension.

  • Patent number: 4711346
Abstract: In order to achieve the ability to negotiate curves, the toothed-belt-like conveyor belt is formed in the plane of the conveyor belt by plates, which consist of a rigid, hard plastic, are at a distance from each other in the longitudinal direction of the belt and have a driving cog molded to their underside. Along the center line of the belt, the plates are connected together by a narrow rib, which is molded to the underside of the plates, is continuous in the longitudinal direction of the belt, stands out from the underside of the plates, consists of a soft, rubberlike, elastically deformable plastic, and contains an embedded tensional reinforcement.
