  • Patent number: 5987954
Abstract: A rolling apparatus has a frame and a first eccentric journal sleeve mounted on the frame, defining a first axis, and having axially inner and outer ends. A first shaft journaled in the sleeve has respective inner and outer ends at the first-sleeve inner and outer ends. The first-shaft outer end projects axially from the frame and carries a workpiece-deforming first roller. A rocker is displaceable transversely of the axis on the frame and carries a second eccentric journal sleeve defining a second axis generally parallel to the first axis and having axially inner and outer ends. A second shaft journaled in the second sleeve has respective inner and outer ends at the second-sleeve inner and outer ends. The second-shaft outer end also projects axially from the frame and carries a workpiece deforming second roller forming with the first roller a workpiece-receiving nip.

  • Patent number: 5927128
Abstract: A block-type roll stand arrangement for single strand rolling including roll stand housings mounted on a support structure. The roll stand housings are all of the same construction and each receives a pair of roll support shafts and the drive gear units therefor. The roll stand housings are arranged one behind the other with the roll support shafts being alternatingly inclined at an angle relative to the rolling line. Stiffening ribs are arranged between the plate support members. The stiffening ribs are connected to the side surfaces of the plate support members and to the base plate. The stiffening ribs may be composed of angle sections with a symmetrical angle cross-section, wherein the parallel outer edges of the angle sections rest on the base plate and whose angle-shaped front and rear side edges rest against the side surfaces of the plate support members.

  • Patent number: 5855134
Abstract: A wire roll stand with roll rings mounted in a cantilevered manner onto roll shafts, wherein the roll rings can be axially clamped through spacer rings against an end of the respective roll shaft. The roll shafts are adjustable by eccentric bushings mounted in a housing and the eccentric bushings as well as the roll shafts are sealed relative to walls of the housings. The housing wall through which the roll shafts extend is equipped with openings which take into consideration the adjusting range of the roll shafts, wherein the openings are fixedly lined with sealing rings having a U-shaped profile. The spacer rings have a U-shaped profile and are composed of at least two parts with separating surfaces thereof extending within the profile yokes, wherein the sides of the spacer rings rest on the sides of the sealing rings within the adjusting range.
