Abstract: In order to obtain a laser inscribing unit that is compact for inscribing cards on two sides which also includes a magnet chip inscribing unit, a laser beam is only deflected in one spatial direction in a fan shape, and in the other spatial direction the movement of the card received in the card slide is provided. In spite of inscribing the card in the same receiving position from the top side and also from the bottom side this yields a very compact configuration.

Abstract: In order to keep the entire unit compact e.g. in a laser inscribing unit in spite of the laser beam impacting the card to be inscribed in an orthogonal manner a relatively large amount of beam deflections is necessary partially through mirrors that are fixated relative to one another. In order to minimize the assembly and adjustment complexity plural beam deflections are caused subsequent to one another through a prism element where the beam deflections are implemented through particular reflection surfaces. The prism element is received in a prism support which is configured to be pivoted and rotated in its entirety for assembly and adjustment purposes.

Abstract: Improvement projects in large organizations are often driven by process engineers with different backgrounds and different experiences. In such an environment is useful to support the process engineers by an effective knowledge management. Typically process knowledge of an organization is represented by a reference process having tables containing process objects with descriptions for e.g. roles, tasks and work products. By assigning annotations containing experiences gained from performed counseling projects to the respective objects of the tables, experiences made by consultants performing these projects can be added to the reference process in a formal way. This improves the reusability of knowledge and experience inherent in an organization.

Abstract: A method of checking the authenticity of a perforation pattern which serves as a security feature and which when viewed in daylight back-lighting shows image information in the substrate of a document in particular in card form, wherein both the front side and also the rear side of the substrate is viewed in the region of the perforation pattern under incident light with light of a defined wavelength and in that case the image which is inherent to the perforation pattern shows on the front side while on the rear side thereof an area corresponding to the region of the perforation pattern shows up only in unspecified fashion.

Abstract: The invention concerns a process for producing a security feature and a print medium which is equipped in that respect, which affords the possibility of not having to implement any change and in particular mechanical change in the surface of the card body. In that respect the substrate includes at least one change-over substance which by irradiation with light of a given wavelength experiences an irreversible change in colour from a starting colour to a final colour, wherein the substrate in the initial condition is so irradiated with a controlled light beam of that wavelength, in particular a laser light beam that, due to the change in colour caused thereby in the change-over substance, an image which can be recognised with the naked eye is produced within the volume of the substrate.
