  • Patent number: 7250109
Abstract: In the backflush filter (10) according to the invention, in which the flushing back of the filter inserts (15) which are received in several filter chambers takes place by means of flushing filtrate loaded by compressed air, the flush valve (35) and the mud drain valve (39) are actuated by a common drive, whereas the valves or the valve bores (45, 46) are dimensioned in such a manner that the flush valve only releases the connection to the filtrate chamber (19?) of the filter inserts (15?) to be flushed back, when the mud drain valve has already at least partially released the connection between the mud chamber (24?) of the affected filter chamber (14?) with a mud outlet (40). By this, it is ensured in a particularly simple manner that at the backflush process the pressure level in the mud chamber has already dropped before the filtrate for the backflush is loaded with compressed air (see FIG. 2).

  • Patent number: 6890434
Abstract: A backflushing filter for filtering oil includes filter candles 22 which are open at both ends 24, 34 and disposed around a rotary shaft 1 in a filter housing. A cleaning device is moved in conjunction with the rotary shaft and includes upper and lower flushing cocks communicating with an outflow valve via the shaft for cleaning the candles during a backflushing operation. The upper flushing cock 27 is offset by an angle in the direction of rotation in relation to the lower flushing cock 37. A lower closure element 38 moves in conjunction with the upper flushing cock at the opposite end of a filter candle(s) selected for backflushing. Likewise, an upper closure element is associated with the lower flushing cock. The candles can be reverse-flushed in opposite directions and at different times by the flushing cocks and closure elements. The flushing cocks and closure elements are moved inside annular deflection hoods 60, 70.

  • Patent number: 6872310
Abstract: In a particularly noise-free and vibration-free operating precoated filter for filtering for example cooling lubricating flowing media, a filter candle surrounding a riser channel is mounted by means of a riser tube in a separating plate in an axially moveable manner. A filter cake adhering to the outside of the filter candle is loosened in such a manner that for example a disk-shaped rotary body comprises a shoulder between the track end and the track start along its track. As soon as a head end piece connected to the riser tube and moveable in an axial manner against the force of a spring is released from the rotating track end, the stored force of the spring accelerates the filter candle, so that the filter cake adhering to the filter candles is loosened by the acceleration of the filter candle and the impact pulse when a dampening ring arranged between the filter candle and the separating plate abuts the separating plate.

  • Publication number: 20030136715
Abstract: This invention relates to a backflushing filter, particularly for filtering lubricating oil. Filter candles 22 which are open at both ends 24, 34 are disposed around a rotary shaft 1 in the filter housing 11, 12, the interior space of which filter candles can be acted upon in filtration operation by a sludge which flows into the backflushing filter 10. A cleaning device is moved in conjunction by means of the rotary shaft 1, and comprises an upper flushing cock 27 and a lower flushing cock, which communicate with an outflow valve via the rotary shaft 1, for cleaning the filter candles 22′ during a backflushing operation. The upper flushing cock 27 is offset by an angle in the direction of rotation in relation to the lower flushing cock 37.

  • Publication number: 20020158002
Abstract: In a particularly noise-free and vibration-free operating precoated filter for filtering for example cooling lubricating means, a filter candle 12 surrounding a riser channel 16 is mounted by means of a riser tube 15 in a separating plate 5 in an axially moveable manner. A filter cake adhering to the outside of the filter candle 12 is loosened in such a manner that for example a disk-shaped rotary body 40 comprises a shoulder 42 between the track end 43 and the track start 44 along its track 41.

  • Patent number: 4804481
Abstract: In the filter according to the invention (precoated filter), gap-type filter elements (11) designed in the manner of filter cartridges and consisting of a profile wire wound into a helical spring are used. In order to detach the adhering filter cake, the gap-type filter element (11) is stretched in its axial direction, with the filter gaps being opened at the same time, this appropriately being carried out be means of a stretching drive which at the same time can be designed as a vibratory drive. The gap-type filter elements are at the same time made to vibrate, and this can be obtained by means of periodic stretching and shortening or by making the stretched gap-type filter elements vibrate. The vibratory movement is appropriately executed at a frequency matching the natural frequency of the gap-type filter elements.

  • Patent number: 4518501
Abstract: The flush-back filter according to the invention uses as supporting element for at least one filter element a support cage which is arranged firmly on the inside of the filter housing and is penetrated from the interior to the exterior by the medium to be filtered. At the interior of the support cage a lifting or rotating flush-back device is located which upon its movement passes over the slot-type windows of the support cage in succession. The slot-type windows are arranged on the support cage in several groups in such a way that the windows of the one group are offset against those of the other group(s) in the direction of movement of the flush-back device, in such a way that the windows of the one group lie at least with the webs of another group on a common plane. In this way the entire filter area is subjected to the flush-back operation during this operation only over very small surface areas, with the result that small flush-back volumes can be used and the pressure drop is slight.

  • Patent number: 4517086
Abstract: An apparatus for filtering solids suspended in a slurry has a housing divided by a horizontal partition into a lower filtrand chamber and an upper filtrate compartment, the partition serving as a vibratile suspension for a multiplicity of filter tubes depending therefrom into the filtrand compartment. An impactor disposed above the housing top has a vertical plunger, coupled with the partition, which is surrounded by or forms a discharge duct with a lower end closely overlying the bottom of a depression formed in the partition; this duct has an outlet opening above the housing top through which effluent present in the filtrate compartment is expelled by the pressure of incoming slurry in a working phase and by the pressure of a scavenger gas such as air in a purging phase.

  • Patent number: 4415448
Abstract: The invention relates to a flush-back filter, in particular for the filtration of oil, having filter elements (filter cartridges) arranged in a circle in the filter housing and a flushing member rotatable around the filter axis for the back-flushing of filter elements with the filtrate. According to the invention said filter elements are arranged on at least two concentric circles within the interior of said filter housing whereby said filter elements lying on one circle are located in the gaps between said filter elements lying on the other circle. For back-flushing of said filter elements horizontal on the concentric circle, there is a common flushing member below and with a small radial dimension, which is driven by a rotary drive. The back-flush filter has at least fourteen to twenty filter elements. Furthermore, a safety filter is arranged on the interior of the filter housing, which encircles said filter elements.

  • Patent number: 4265771
Abstract: An alluvial filter candle apparatus has a plurality of filtering elements each of which has a return casing surrounding a riser lower end provided with a filtrate inlet opening and preventing backflow of the filtrate through the filter cake. The volume of the return casing corresponds to that of the riser. The risers are formed as mounting rods which mount candle-like filtering bodies of the filtering elements to a partition subdividing a filter housing into a filtrate chamber and a filtrant chamber. The partition sealingly abuts against and is movable relative to the filter casing. An arrangement is provided for forcedly displacing the partition together with the filtering element so as to separate the filter cake from the latter. A method of cleaning the filtering apparatus is also provided.
