Abstract: The invention relates to a coffee machine for brewing a hot drink, in particular, a coffee drink, by means of a portion capsule with a capsule lid and a capsule base, comprising a pressurised water device, a portion capsule holder and a controller. The portion capsule holder is provided with two relatively-displaceable puncture means, which pierce the capsule lid and the capsule base on or after insertion of the portion capsule in the portion capsule holder, such that hot water can enter the portion capsule through the capsule lid and the drink escapes through the capsule base from the portion capsule. The controller is provided for the provision of three differing pressures for the pressurised water, for example, for brewing espresso, white coffee and filter coffee. The capsule base of the portion capsule can comprise a pre-weakened spot.

Abstract: In a system comprising a beverage machine and comprising portion capsules of at least two different types which each contain a beverage substance, portion capsules of different types are provided with colour codings which differ from one another. The beverage machine is designed to prepare beverages, in particular to brew hot coffee beverages, by means of the portion capsules and has a pressurized-water device, a capsule holder which is provided to accommodate a portion capsule, and a control means. The beverage machine also contains a colour-identification device which is designed to detect the colour coding of a portion capsule which is to be or is inserted into the capsule holder and to select a program, in the control means, for operating the beverage machine, which program is associated with this colour coding.

Abstract: A portion capsule, which is suitable in particular for brewing coffee, has a capsule cover and a capsule base and is closed on all sides in the state in which it is supplied. It contains a particulate beverage substance which can be extracted by water. A screening device is arranged between the beverage substance and the capsule base. The screening device is spaced apart from the capsule base, in the central region of the latter, by means of an annular structure which defines an outer region and an inner region in the interspace between the screening device and capsule base. The outer region is connected to the inner region via through-openings.

Abstract: A device for preparing froth, in particular for preparing milk froth by means of hot steam output by a domestic coffee machine, contains an elongate nozzle body having a rear end and a front end, which can be connected in the region of its rear end to a hot steam source and which has an outlet nozzle in the region of its front end. A casing sleeve having a rear end and a front end surrounds the nozzle body and has an air intake opening in the region of its rear end and an outlet opening in the region of its front end, an intermediate space being formed between the nozzle body and the casing sleeve. An outer sleeve surrounds the casing sleeve at least in the region of the rear end of the casing sleeve.

Abstract: A single portion cartridge (1), which is suitable in particular for brewing a portion of a coffee beverage, has a cartridge cover (6) and a cartridge base (4) and in the state in which it is supplied is closed on all sides. It contains a particulate beverage substance which can be extracted by means of water. Arranged between the cartridge cover (6) and the beverage substance is a distributing device (8) and/or between the beverage substance and the cartridge base (4) a screening device (9). The distributing device (8) and/or the screening device (9) has a supporting structure (20, 10), which is provided with at least one opening (26, 16), which is covered by a textile fabric (34, 30).
