  • Publication number: 20100121356
Abstract: Apparatus for minimum invasive fasciectomy, characterized by a tubular fixation element, including two detachably interconnected semitubular shells with in each case a wedge-shaped recess formed at a proximal end and at a distal end, a deflecting bar, whose length essentially corresponds to the portion between the recesses, and lifting wedges with in each case receptacles located at the lower portion thereof for the detachable connection of the lifting wedges to the deflecting bar, wherein the titling wedges can be introduced into the wedge-shaped recesses, accompanied by a sliding apart of the detachably interconnected semitubular shells.

  • Patent number: 6782560
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a protective enclosure is provided. The protective enclosure is used to form a fabric barrier surrounding a patient to prevent contamination from the patient from spreading. The protective suit provides access panels so that a limited area of the patient may be accessed for treatment purposes. The method and apparatus allows a patient to be retained within the protective suit during transport and while receiving treatment. The protective suit thereby limits the spread of contamination to the surrounding environment, including health care personnel and diagnostic machinery.

  • Patent number: 6712858
Abstract: The invention relates to a reinforcement endoprosthesis for use in a femoral bone which is resected at an end of a hip joint and at an end of a knee joint. The endoprosthesis includes a stem part of an artificial hip joint and a condyle part of an artificial knee joint. The connecting part between the stem part and the condyle part is configured as a two-piece intramedullary nail which extends inside the femoral bone. One part of the intramedullary nail is a massive intramedullary nail with a connecting portion for a thread and a thread attached thereto and another part of the intramedullary nail is a hollow intramedullary nail with a female thread matching the thread of the first part. The female thread can be screwed with the thread, thereby allowing a length adjustment of the endoprosthesis.

  • Patent number: 4714467
Abstract: In a method of producing implants of bone replacement material from resin reinforced with carbon fiber at least the fibers in the parts of the surface which are to come into contact with the bone tissue are exposed by mechanical treatment. This provides for an improved unification of the bone with the implant. The fibers at the surface may be fibers of a fabric which is wrapped around a basic member shaped to conform to the desired implant.
