  • Patent number: 6612707
Abstract: The invention relates to an exterior rear-view mirror comprising an adjustably held glass subassembly and at least one electrical drive motor (2), with the glass subassembly being adjustable via at least one adjustment mechanism arranged between the drive motor (2) and the glass subassembly. The adjustment mechanism comprises a drive shaft (7, 8) with an eccentrically shaped shaft section (9, 10) and a drive bar (12, 13) arranged between the glass subassembly and the eccentrically shaped shaft section (9, 10) of the drive shaft (7, 8). The drive shaft (7, 8) and the drive bar interact in such a way that a rotatory actuating movement of the drive shaft (7, 8) is converted to a linear actuating movement, acting on the glass subassembly, of the drive bar (12, 13) as a result of excursion of the eccentrically shaped shaft section (9, 10).

  • Patent number: 6412962
Abstract: A rear view mirror (1) for a motor vehicle is disclosed having a mirror element, in the mirror surface of which the driver may observe the traffic behind the driver. In order variably to be able to vary the reflection detail shown in the rear view mirror (1), the mirror element (2) is composed of a plurality of component mirrors (3). These component mirrors (3) are arranged so as to be pivotally mounted on a base plate (5) and the angle of reflection of each component mirror (3) may be adjusted through control of at least one associated drive unit (6).

  • Patent number: 5631638
Abstract: An information system in a motor vehicle which includes electronic circuits connectable to the vehicle computer of the motor vehicle as well as one or more sensors, a display device and possibly operational elements. In order that the display device be clearly laid out for the driver, it is designed so that the sensor and the circuits are accommodated in the frame of a motor vehicle rear-view mirror, with the circuits being linked to a cable connectable to the on-board computer and led through a hollow arm of the rear-view mirror, with the display system being integrated in the mirror glass of the rear-view mirror.

  • Patent number: 4936671
Abstract: Disclosed is an outside rear-view mirror for a motor vehicle having a reverse gear. The outside rear-view mirror comprises a mirror housing adapted for being mounted to a body of the vehicle. A mirror glass is held by the mirror housing and a drive motor is provided for tilting the mirror glass about at least one axis with respect to the vehicle. The mirror is coupled to the drive motor through a link. A current supply circuit for the drive motor is provided and includes a reverse switch for reverting the direction of rotation of a rotor of the drive motor. A control member for switching the reverse gear is coupled to the reverse switch and to a preset displacement restricting device for restricting a rotation of the link. The displacement restricting device may be controlled electro-mechanically or may be formed electronically.
