    Abstract: A valve for a steam turbine includes a valve housing having a sealing seat disposed therein which interacts with a sealing piece, a valve spindle for actuating the sealing piece, and a drive for actuating the valve spindle. The drive includes an electric motor which interacts with the valve spindle through an electromagnetically actuated coupling and acts upon an energy accumulator. A method is also provided for actuating the valve.
