Publication number: 20100299856Abstract: The present invention relates to a toothbrush attachment for an electric toothbrush, having a preferably tube-shaped body part on which an electronic module, such as a transponder, is mounted. The invention further relates to a method for producing such a toothbrush attachment and to a toothbrush having such a toothbrush attachment. According to the invention, the at least one electronic component is welded into the toothbrush attachment. According to the invention, the electronic component is encapsulated in an intermediate space between two body parts of the toothbrush attachment and is closed by at least one weld seam bonding the two body parts to each other. This ensures comprehensive protection of the electronic component by the body parts covering it.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 15, 2008Publication date: December 2, 2010Inventors: Rudolf Majthan, Hans-Herbert Fuchs

Patent number: 6228307Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and a device for bending a component (71) made of a thermoplastic material, and to the component (71) itself, in particular a sleeve-shaped component having a straight shank (72), for use in a personal care appliance such as a dental care, a hair care, a kitchen apparatus or the like. A holding means (70) is provided for supporting the component (71) to be formed to shape, and the component (71) is formed by at least two tools (76, 84, 92) arranged for movement relative to each other, and a heating unit is provided for heating the component (71) in its condition as formed.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1998Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Braun GmbHInventors: Hans Kastl, Ulrich Schenk, Karlheinz Johne, Rudolf Majthan

Patent number: 6103173Abstract: A method for bending a component made of a thermoplastic material. The component involved is in particular a sleeve-shaped component for a personal care appliance such as a dental care apparatus or the like. For the component to be bent it is heated up to the plastic's softening point. The component is brought into engagement with a forming rail and, during a relative movement of the component and the forming rail, is bent against the forming rail by means of a bending tool. As this occurs, the engagement surface between the component and the forming rail varies continuously.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1998Date of Patent: August 15, 2000Assignee: Braun AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hans Kastl, Ulrich Schenk, Karlheinz Johne, Rudolf Majthan

Patent number: 5802932Abstract: A cutter which performs the function of either the outer or the inner cutter in a cutting device comprised of outer and inner cutters of an electric shaving apparatus or an electric beard trimmer. The cutter includes in its cutting area configured as a plane sliding surface a plurality of teeth extending from a comb strip with slots therebetween and with cutting edges formed on the tooth edges. Arranged on the cutter are one or several wall portions angled relative to the cutting area. The cutting area of the cutter includes a blade made of hardened sheet steel, with the teeth of the blade being produced by etching. The wall portions of the cutter are formed by welding one or several formed sheet metal sections to the blade. The weldment is effected such that the resulting rise in temperature of the blade is so low that the hardened sheet metal material is neither adversely affected by deformations nor exposed to significant losses in respect of hardness and wear resistance.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1996Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Braun AktiengesellschaftInventors: Michael Vankov, Karlheinz Johne, Dieter Huth, Gunther Seidel, Rudolf Majthan, Lutz Voigtmann
