Publication number: 20080048422Abstract: In a motor vehicle having a front-end structure, a front bulkhead separates the front-end structure from an interior space, and a braking unit fixed to the front bulkhead has a master brake cylinder and a brake booster. The braking unit is pivotable about a pivot axis which runs through the front bulkhead, with an arrangement for pivoting the braking unit being arranged at a distance from the pivot axis and interacting with components arranged in the front-end structure in the event of a vehicle collision. In order to reliably reduce the risk of injury to a driver of a motor vehicle in the footwell region in the event of a vehicle collision, a transmitting element is provided to prevent a relative movement between the arrangement for pivoting the braking unit and the pivot axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2005Publication date: February 28, 2008Applicant: DAIMLERCHRYSLER AGInventors: Guenter Eichhorn, Mario Gassmann, Christian Gruber, Rudolf Mayer, Harald Muehleisen, Andreas Richter

Patent number: 7198378Abstract: A support arm for a vehicle mirror having at least one mirror head with a mirror pane which includes an upper holding arm (1) made of plastic with an anchoring element (2) for mounting on a vehicle, and a lower holding arm (3) made of plastic with an anchoring element (4) at the bottom for mounting on a vehicle. A one-piece base (6) includes a metal tube (5) whose top or, as the case may be, bottom end is securely connected with the upper and lower holding arm, respectively. The base can also be built in the form of a base plate. In this case, the base has a removable positioning wedge (7) that can be removed from the base to change the angle of at least one mirror pane and/or mirror head carried by the base. The positioning wedge is attached to provide an exterior driver-side rear view mirror, and is removed to provide a passenger-side rear view mirror.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2004Date of Patent: April 3, 2007Assignee: Lang Mekra North America, LLCInventors: Heinrich Lang, Jurgen Pfanz, Markus Meier, Rudolf Mayer

Publication number: 20070000771Abstract: Molding a carrier base from plastic having a curved base surface formed into a fixed shape prior to receiving a mirror coating. Sputtering a first mirror coating layer selected of chromium onto the curved base surface, wherein the first layer has a light reflectivity in the range of approximately 60% to 65% of visible electromagnetic radiation. Sputtering a second mirror coating layer of aluminum onto the first layer so that the second layer has a light reflectivity of at least about 80% of visible electromagnetic radiation and a maximum thickness of approximately 20% of the thickness of the first layer. The first and second mirror coating layers are applied to the curved base surface to have a combined layer thickness in the range of approximately 5 mm to 1 ?m. Applying an anti-scratch coating onto the second mirror coating layer to resist damage to the first and second mirror coating layers.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2006Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Werner Lang, Jochen Bauer, Willi Felbinger, Rudolf Mayer

Patent number: 6007059Abstract: A hydraulic damping bearing comprises an inner part, an outer part arranged at a distance from the inner part, and an elastic element inserted therebetween. At least one chamber filled with a damping medium is arranged between the elastic element and the outer part. The outer part includes at least one bore hole in one of the end regions. The elastic element in this region has a recess communicating with the chamber which is alignable with the bore hole when the elastic element is not fully inserted in the outer part. The bore hole is closed by the elastic element when the elastic element is fully inserted.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1998Date of Patent: December 28, 1999Assignee: Mannesmann Boge GmbHInventor: Rudolf Mayer

Patent number: 4156333Abstract: A machine having a folding channel for wrapping blanks of packaging material about substantially rectangular objects that are advanced through the folding channel by a sliding ram. The blanks are introduced across the channel in front of the object before it is moved, and movable folding means are positioned at the output of the folding channel to complete the wrapping. By providing for selective relative positioning of the blank feeder and the movable folding means in conjunction with an appropriate change in the stroke of the ram, a wide variety of object sizes are efficiently accommodated.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1977Date of Patent: May 29, 1979Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventor: Rudolf Mayer
