  • Patent number: 10222772
Abstract: A method for configuring hardware modules in an automation system includes the steps opening or creating a project in a project configuration software package, opening or generating, in the project, where a station has a number of slots, opening a hardware catalog that includes a plurality of hardware module master data records, inserting at least one hardware module master data record for a hardware module from the hardware catalog (into the station, wherein a customization step is performed for the at least one hardware module master data record, where at least one environmental parameter is specified which represents the ambient conditions at the deployment location of the at least one hardware module, and saving the station having the at least one hardware module master data record inserted into the station and with its at least one environmental parameter.

  • Patent number: 9910418
Abstract: A method and programming system for programming an automation component of an industrial automation arrangement, the automation component being provided with at least one special main memory, such as a cache or a tightly coupled memory, with faster access, wherein a user is provided with an input option for assigning priority values to individual tasks of the automation program when creating the program, all of those program parts which are called when executing at least the task with the highest priority assigned by the user are automatically identified, and the identified program parts being permanently storable in the special main memory such that important program parts and routines are executable in a reproducible manner at high execution speed and with a short latency time.

  • Patent number: 6125454
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for transmitting information on a bus assigned to an electrical controller including a main unit and at least one secondary unit. According to the invention, the reliability of data transmission via the bus is enhanced by checking each data transmission for errors. When a faulty data transmission is found, the data transmission is repeated. An error message will not be generated until a faulty data transmission is detected for a predetermined number of successive transmissions.
