    Abstract: A counter-strip for a perforating device in a signature perforating assembly for a printing press is made of a resilient material and has a linearly extending bore. A support is placed in the bore and has a number of openings which will not interfere with the operation of perforating blades that are used to perforate signatures. The counter-strip is positioned in a counter-perforating cylinder and is supplied with compressed air that is used to remove paper dust from the bore.

    Abstract: A signature perforating device includes a perforating cylinder and a cooperating counter perforating cylinder. The perforating cylinder carries a perforating blade strip which is formed by a number of perforating blade elements. These elements are held in place on the perforating cylinder in a profiled blade holding strip. Individual ones of these perforating blade elements can be removed from the strip for replacement without disruption to adjacent blade elements.

  • Method and device for the production of a longitudinal fold

    Abstract: A signature to be folded in a folding device is first provided with a pre-fold that is formed along the intended fold line. The signature is conveyed through a linear guide where it is pre-folded. The pre-folded signature is then delivered to a folding device where it is folded by being caused to pass between a pair of folding rollers.
