    Abstract: An apparatus for cutting a web of paper and for applying an adhesive tape to a cutting edge of the web of paper has a stand, a receptacle, and a cutter. An applicator unit is provided, which is displaceable in a working direction. The applicator unit has a cutting device, an adhesive tape carrier and a pressing device disposed downstream (as referred to the cutting direction) of the cutting device for pressing the adhesive tape on the end of the web of paper.
