  • Patent number: 5199901
Abstract: An electrical plug housing with a keying device for inserting a contact element into a contact chamber of the plug housing. The contact chamber has a square cross section preceded by a sealing chamber of round cross section. An inbound contact element encounters a keying element between the sealing and contact chambers for proper alignment. The frontal edges of the keying elements are slanted to form a blunt cone-shaped funnel for aligning the contact element.

  • Patent number: 4774761
Abstract: This invention concerns a process for changing electric lines, especially for cutting a line to length and equipping cut line segments with electric connectors especially in an automatic cable finishing machine with lateral transport of the cut line segments with endless belts, where several different lines each unwound from a cable drum are stored on an arc of a circle, so they are parallel to each other with a certain distance apart and they are pivoted together on the arc of the circle for the purpose of changing the lines until a predetermined line is positioned at the culmination point of the arc. This invention also concerns a device for carrying out this process, characterized by a line storage device with support points for lines arranged on an arc extending across the transport direction of a line that is to be cut and arranged so they are spaced a certain distance apart, where the storage device is mounted so it can be pivoted back and forth in the direction of the arc.

  • Patent number: 4631822
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of cables fitted with electrical connectors, in which several cables are drawn off, preferably simultaneously, from different cable storers, thereupon the cables are cut to length, at least one cable end being stripped and fitted with a connector, in which system from a cable storer in each case several cable strands of at least two different cable types are drawn off, the cable strands of each cable type being conducted into a separate transport plane or into a separate transport path of one plane, at which time the cable strands of like or unlike type are selected and conducted into a drawn-off plane, from which they are gripped and conveyed onward for cutting to length.

  • Patent number: 4615100
Abstract: An improvement is provided in a crimping process of the type wherein linear sections of a specified length are cut off from a roll of insulated wire and the opposite ends are insulation-stripped and crimped, and wherein the insulated wire is periodically advanced along a path of travel by a distance corresponding to the length of the wire sections. The stripped ends of the insulated wire and wire section are rotated from the path of travel and inserted in a crimping for crimping thereof and thereafter these ends, after crimping, are rotated back into the path of travel, with the crimped wire section then being removed from the path and the crimped insulated wire being conveyed further along the path. The invention, the provision in parallel with the insulated wire of a second insulated wire which is processed and crimped in the same way as the first wire for crimping.

  • Patent number: 4185522
Abstract: A process for setting an incision depth in stripping electrical conductor wires including an automatic scanning system to obtain a value corresponding to an outside diameter of the conductor wire to be stripped, and an automatic adjustment system to adjust the impact of the stripping according to the scanning value, and a device for carrying out the execution of this process. The scanning system is performed by clamping jaw elements of the insulation stripping device. The adjustment system includes a coupling system connected to the clamping jaw elements, a lever system reacting to the coupling system, and a double wedge arrangement having a stop wedge which is shifted accordingly by the lever system. A counter-wedge coacts with the stop wedge, where these wedges preferably are formed with an angle of 15.degree.. The wedge surface of the stop wedge is provided with a barb-shaped dentation and is fabricated from steel, where the counter-wedge is fabricated from plastic.

  • Patent number: 4145807
Abstract: A procedure and installation for the manufacture of partial laced wiring harnesses in which each cable is pulled from an independent feeder and fed into a horizontal plane, then gripped at a forward free end. Each cable is then independently transported further in a constant stretch in an axial direction of the wiring harness to obtain a preselected length for each cable, where the cable is preferably arranged in the form of a loop and disposed in a transport installation. The front and rear portion of the preselected length of cable are gripped by members of the transport installation, and the forward free end is released. After cutting the cable to length, the cable is still gripped at the front and the rear portion thereof and is transported further horizontally at right angles to the axial direction of the cable ends. Then, at least one end area of the cable is bared and provided with a connector and thereafter provided with a casing.

  • Patent number: 4077698
Abstract: The conductor claw includes a bent bottom section and claw arms outwardly adjoining the bent bottom section at the two sides thereof. The claw arms are bent towards the longitudinal axis of the conductor claw. The end sections of the claw arms are curved. Each claw arm includes intermediate the curved bottom section of the conductor claw and the curved end section of the respective claw arm a straight section which merges tangentially into the respective curved end section. Each claw arm has at the bend therein an inner knee and an outer knee, and each curved end section of the claw arms has an inner curve and an outer curve. The centers of the inner and outer curves of each curved end section are located on a first line spaced from each other a distance corresponding to the thickness of the material of the conductor claw. The first line extends parallel to a second line which passes through both the inner and the outer knee of the respective claw arm.
