  • Patent number: 4752099
Abstract: A cable guide for automobile sliding roofs comprising an upwardly open profile cavity, which communicates with cable guide channels and guide channels for guide shoes of forward and rear guide elements guiding a sliding lid, a flexible cover element is provided, which engages slidably into the cavity and closes the top of this cavity. The flexible cover element participates in the sliding movements of the sliding lid and ensures that, in every slid-open position of the lid, no portion of the cavity is upwardly open, so that dirt and other foreign matter cannot penetrate into the cavity and thereby into the cable guide channels and the guide channels for the guide shoes.

  • Patent number: 4732422
Abstract: In a sliding-lifting roof, in which a lid associated with a roof opening is pivotally mounted on an intermediate frame in the vicinity of its forward edge, apart from forward sliding elements, there is provided for the sliding guidance of the lid on lateral guide rails and driven rear sliding elements, guide carriages which are capable of being coupled to the rear sliding elements and are also guided on the guide rails, which are connected with the intermediate frame by link rods. The guide carriages and the link rods permit a lowering movement of the lid, by means of which, in spite of the use of an intermediate frame for the edge gap sealing, a small overall height is attained, because the lid is displaced in a parallel position and not in an inclined position beneath the fixed automobile roof. The pivotal movements of the lid are effected through two guide blocks which for this purpose engage with only one guide pin. a reliable holding of the lid is achieved in all pivoted positions of the lid.

  • Patent number: 4707022
Abstract: In a sliding roof for an automobile, a rigid sliding lid is slidably guided on lateral guide rails, a movable lid liner participating in the lid displacements being connected to the sliding lid, which liner is likewise displaceable on the guide rails. In order to achieve a step-free, flush joint of the lid liner, when the sliding lid is closed, with a surrounding fixed roof liner, and to avoid damage to the movable lid liner during sliding, the sliding lid and lid liner are connected to each other by guide elements, positively controlled by the lifting movements of the sliding lid, which guide elements during lowering movements of the sliding lid simultaneously raise the lid liner and, during raising of the sliding lid into its closed position, simultaneously lower the lid liner until it lies flush with the fixed liner.

  • Patent number: 4482183
Abstract: In a wind deflector device at an automobile roof comprising a roof opening (2) closable by a sliding lid (6), a wind deflector (18) pivotally disposed along the forward edge of the roof opening and two restoring levers (23) are provided, which are each journalled at one end of the roof frame (3) and at the other end engage with the wind deflector, the wind deflector being capable of pivoting out under spring force when the sliding lid opens and capable of pivoting in by the running of components connected with the sliding lid onto the restoring levers when the sliding lid is closed.

  • Patent number: 4447086
Abstract: A wind deflector for sliding roofs, especially for use on automobiles, comprises a wind deflector plate (3) mounted pivotally on the forward roof frame cross-member. Two extend arms (4, 5) are pivotally attached at the two outer ends of the wind deflector plate. These arms are pivotally journaled on the roof frame longitudinal members. Also included is a device (11) which acts on the wind deflector plate for the pivoting path length compensation and rod-shaped extend springs (13) which are provided on each extend arm and are effective between the extend arms and the roof frame longitudinal member adjacent to each extend arm for the purpose of pivoting out the extend arms and wind deflector plate when the sliding cover is opened and for pivoting in the extend arms and the wind deflector plate by running the sliding cover onto the extend arms when the sliding cover is closed.

  • Patent number: 4417763
Abstract: A sliding-rising roof for motor vehicles having a rigid cover plate which, in its closed position, closes a roof cut-out while forming an encircling marginal gap. The cover plate has front and rear slide blocks by which it is laterally guided on guide rails in the roof cut-out and is driven by pressure-resistantly and displaceably guided cables which engage the rear slide blocks. The roof can be either raised in the manner of front hinged ventilator flaps, by having its rear edge raised or, once its rear edge has been lowered, moved under the rear rigid roof cover.
