  • Patent number: 5918978
Abstract: The invention refers to a device for mixing chemicals into a pulp suspension, where a high-speed rotor (5) with an open center is mounted inside a mixing chamber (2). It is mainly characterized by at least one further high-speed rotor (5') with open center being provided, the areas covered by these rotors (5, 5') overlapping and the spacing between the axis of the rotors (5, 5') being selected so that the rotor arms (8, 8') extend almost to the center of at least one other rotor (5, 5').

  • Patent number: 5017198
Abstract: The invention relates to processes for the treatment of in particular medium and highly consistent material-gas mixtures to be pumped, preferably gas-containing, in particular air-containing fibrous material suspensions, a separation of the gas being effected prior to the pumping operation. The invention is mainly characterized in that the material-gas mixture, preferably the gas-containing fibrous material suspension, is subjected in a separate container separate from the pump housing for the separate gas separation, in particular air separation, preceding the pumping operation, to a conveniently high-speed rotation of in particular between 1,200 and 3,400 rpm, preferably of about 3,000 rpm, while at least in operation, gas, in particular air, is sucked off or a vacuum is generated approximately in the center of the rotating motion of the material-gas mixture. The invention further relates to plants and devices e.g. suitable for carrying out these processes.

  • Patent number: 4834884
Abstract: A pressure device for machines for dewatering or filtering of suspensions, sludges or the like or for material to be pressed for the exertion of surface pressure on at least one circulating pressure belt which can be provided for supporting an equally circulating filter belt, which pressure device consists of an essentially completely hollow pressure bladder in the form of a closed frame in particular of essentially quadrangular shape viewed in top view of the pressure belt, which pressure bladder is subjectable to pressure medium and forms a very small, self-adjusting gap on the edge.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 10, 1987
Date of Patent: May 30, 1989
    Assignee: Mascheninfabrik Andritz Actiengesellschaft
