  • Patent number: 7865001
Abstract: A three-dimensional rotational angiography (3DRA) system, in which a finite element method (FEM) package is incorporated which can read in surface meshes (20b) of a reconstructed 3DRA image of an aneurysm to generate FEM meshes (20a) which are closely approximated to the observed aneurysm (20b) in an iterative process by changing the material properties of the aneurysm used in generating the simulated representations (20a) thereof. Thus, the material properties of the closely approximated simulated representation (20a) can be used in subsequent analysis of the physical properties of the aneurysm under consideration.

  • Patent number: 7725164
Abstract: A method is disclosed which allows for optimally viewing a portion of a patient vascular system to facilitate at least one of diagnosis and treatment the vascular system. The method includes acquiring a model of said vascular system based on image data generated by an imaging device, identifying a portion of interest of the vascular system including determining a central vessel axis for a vessel of interest, generating a foreshortening map of the portion of interest based on viewing angle of the imaging device position, with respect to the patient, generating an overlap map to determine an amount of overlap present for particular viewing angles based on imaging device position, and generating a feasibility map to model dimensions of the patient based on patient characteristics, imaging device configuration, foreshortening and overlap.

  • Publication number: 20030001905
Abstract: The invention relates to a medical analysis device which is intended to analyze a three-dimensional image acquired by means of angiography or radiography. The device includes a memory in which the three-dimensional image is stored. The image is displayed on a monitor. The system includes a manipulator which is intended to process voxels of the image. The manipulator notably deletes or erases voxels selectively from the three-dimensional image in a predetermined direction. Such a manipulator operates as an electronic eraser.

  • Patent number: 6497662
Abstract: A rendering system includes a rendering unit (2) and a data processing unit (1) for the processing of a multi-dimensional object data set. The data processing unit is arranged to sample a surface model of the object data set. The successive representations of the surface model from the respective viewing directions are shown on the rendering unit. For the last viewing direction indicated, that is, the final direction, the representation of the multi-dimensional object data set is shown as viewed from the final direction.
