  • Patent number: 6086333
Abstract: A method and device for quick pressure relief in a hydrogen-cooled generator system. The hydrogen-cooled generator system at least includes a first and second housing part and a hydrogen seal that separates the first housing part from the interior of the second housing part. In the normal state, the first housing part contains a hydrogen atmosphere at overpressure that is separated from the interior of the second housing part by the hydrogen seal. The quick pressure relief method includes the steps of lowering the pressure of the overpressure hydrogen in the first housing part through a quick discharge line upon failure of the hydrogen seal, and exhausting gas from the interior of the second housing part through a bleed line that is connected to the quick discharge line.

  • Patent number: 5574325
Abstract: A configuration, which may be part of a heavy-duty dynamoelectric machine, in particular a stator, being impregnated with a filler such as a cured epoxy resin, includes a ferromagnetic and electrically conductive carrier body having grooves formed therein defining groove walls, and winding elements disposed in the grooves. Each of the winding elements has an electrically highly conductive basic unit, an impregnatable insulating sleeve surrounding the basic unit, and an electrically weakly conductive, impregnatable protective layer enveloping the insulating sleeve. Impregnatable separating layers are each disposed between a respective one of the winding elements and at least one of the groove walls of a respective one of the grooves. The separating layers are substantially formed of laminated mica sheets resting flat between the winding element and the groove wall.

  • Patent number: 4381467
Abstract: A multiplanar conductor bar for electric machines comprising subconductors superimposed radially in a number n of circumferentially mutually adjacent planes, n being a whole, even number between six and ten, inclusive, and transposed by at least 360.degree.. A total of two groups of two adjacent subconductor planes, respectively, are formed at upper and lower sides of the multiplanar conductor bar by exclusively mutual crossover of the semiconductors of the two adjacent planes. A total of n/2-1 groups of four adjacent subconductor planes, respectively, are formed at the upper and lower sides of the multiplanar conductor bar by exclusively mutual crossover of the subconductors of the respective four adjacent subconductor planes and exclusively in a transition between the respective outer and the respective inner planes of the four planes. The respective groups of four adjacent planes are mutually offset at the lower side with respect to the upper side by two subconductor planes.

  • Patent number: 4173724
Abstract: Stator of an electric machine having an air-gap winding with every respective second bar thereof being radially outwardly cranked in the end turn region thereof includes a laminated core subdivided radially into two concentric component laminated cores and defining therebetween a cylindrical joint, at least one of the component laminated cores being formed with axially extending slots at the cylindrical joint for relieving from magnetic tension the inner component core of the two concentric component cores.

  • Patent number: 4070593
Abstract: An excitation winding arrangement is provided for low-speed synchronous machines wherein the poles are configured without pole shoes and accommodate the excitation windings. The excitation winding arrangement includes coils of flat conductors which define the excitation windings. The flat conductors are wound so that their surfaces are parallel to the walls of the poles and the coils form a self-supporting component which can be improved by hardened turn insulation. These coils are secured only at the end-faces of the poles by a mounting arrangement. Effective cooling of the coils in the pole gap is thereby achieved.
