  • Patent number: 4681735
Abstract: Economical but readily workable palladium alloys for baking on dental ceramics consist of 60 to 80% palladium, 0 to 8% gold, 0 to 5% platinum, 0 to 1% ruthenium and/or rhenium, 2 to 20% copper, 1 to 12% tin and/or indium, 0.2 to 5% of at least one of the elements tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum, and 0 to 15% cobalt, with the proviso that the sum of tin and indium must be between 5 and 14%.

  • Patent number: 4676001
Abstract: A portable compass saw which is provided with an oscillation drive for driving a saw blade. The oscillation drive includes a gear, which is mounted on a shaft in the housing; engaging in the teeth of the gear is a pinion of a drive shaft of a drive motor. At a distance from its axis of rotation, the gear is provided with a pin extending parallel thereto. The pin is in driving connection with a clutch member, which is connected to the push rod and has a guide for the bolt, with the guide extending at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the push rod. The teeth of the gear are provided on that side of the gear which faces the push rod. The pinion is located in the region between the push rod and the gear, which is seated loosely on the shaft and is held on the latter under the load of the pinion. As a result, the gear is held reliably in its installed position, even though it is seated loosely on the shaft and is not secured to prevent axial displacement by separate securing members.

  • Patent number: 4656742
Abstract: A portable compass saw having an oscillation drive for a push rod, to which a saw blade is attached. The push rod has an angular cross-section, and is guided over part of its length on all sides in a housing. Guide surfaces, themselves formed by parts of the housing, are provided for the purpose of guidance on two opposite sides of the push rod. Roller bearings extending at right angles to the stroke direction are respectively located on the two other sides of the push rod. In the region of the oscillation drive, a pressure member acts on the push rod on the opposite side. This member loads the push rod in the direction toward the oscillation drive. The push rod is consequently guided in a trouble free manner in the housing in, and at right angles to, the direction of the stroke, so that no play occurs which may impair the saw cut.

  • Patent number: 4642002
Abstract: A holder for supporting motor driven tools against the reaction torque which occurs during operation. Two supports which are spaced from one another are provided for the tool. The supports are rigidly connected with a clamping device. Since only one support is effective at any given time for a given direction of rotation of the tool, the direction of rotation of the latter can be changed without having to modify the holder. The holder, together with the clamping device, is fastened directly onto the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4502821
Abstract: A thread cutting tool having an electric motor which is accommodated in a housing and, by means of at least one worm gearing, drives a holder ring which is rotatably mounted in a head ring. The electric motor has a speed of greater than 25,000 rpm. The worm-gear toothing of the holder ring has a modulus of less than approximately 1.6 mm. Due to the high speed, the electric motor can be very small, so that the thread cutting tool can be easily handled, and can have a low weight. Due to the low modulus, the high speed of the electric motor can be reduced to the operating speed of the holder ring without it being necessary that the worm gear have a large diameter.

  • Patent number: 4370770
Abstract: A thread-cutting head for pipes, tubes, and the like, with cutting jaws arranged in a cutting-jaw holder. The cutting jaws are radially adjustable by a control disc which is displaceably supported on the cutting-jaw holder and is adjustable by a clamping screw. The control disc for the cutting position of the cutting jaws relative to the cutting jaw holder is adapted to be tensioned and arrested against the force of a spring. The thead-cutting head also has a clamping lever as well as an unlatching abutment projecting into the thread-cutting range. The clamping lever is pivotally journaled on an arresting piece arranged on the control disc about a pivot pin directed transverse to the thread-cutting axis. A catch member is arranged between the cutting-jaw holder and the arresting piece. The clamping lever has a release pin directed against the catch member, and is embodied as an unlatching abutment at that end thereof directed toward the cutting jaw side.
