    Abstract: An invalid lifting and carrying apparatus has a standard (1) on the outside of which a slide (9) is vertically movable. The slide has a cantilever (10) which is fixed tiltable around swivelling axis journals (13). These swivelling axis journals (13) each grip into an elongagted slot (14) of the cantilever (10). Stops (15, 21) allow the cantilever (10) to be held in two different positions, one of which is intended for fastening a seat (17), the other for fastening a hanger (22) of a belt device.

    Abstract: An invalid handling device has a vertical standard and a slide which is movable along the standard and connectable with a holding device to carry an invalid. This device has a lifting device inside the standard to move the slide. The slide is guided outside the standard. A suspending cable runs from the slide upwards to a return point and from there down to a fixed point. The return point is provided movable in its height by means of the lifting device.

    Abstract: A holder for road maps or the like, viewable by the driver of an automotive vehicle, comprises a two-convolution coil spring whose turns can clamp a paper sheet between them in a generally vertical position, these turns diverging laterally over a fraction of a semicircle to facilitate insertion of the sheet. The spring terminates in a first extremity, universally jointed on a telescopic arm which is secured to the dashboard and/or the windshield of the vehicle, and in an oppositely extending second extremity carrying an adjustable mounting for a magnifying glass that is alignable with substantially any part of the area encompassed by the spring turns.
