Rudolph O. de Jongh has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4696911
Abstract: Nickel boride hydrogenation catalysts stabilized with polyvinylpyrrolidone, having constant excellent quality, are prepared by incorporating glycerol monooleate before the alcohol is evaporated off.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 1986
Date of Patent: September 29, 1987
    Assignee: Unilever Patent Holdings B.V.
Inventors: Hiepke Boerma, Rudolph O. de Jongh, Cornelis Van Dijk
  • Patent number: 4600701
Abstract: The invention provides a novel, active hydrogenation catalyst comprising nickelboride stabilized with a vinylpyrrolidone group containing polymer, said catalyst satisfies a certain activity test in the hydrogenation of soybean oil. The invention further provides a method for the preparation of said catalyst involving the use of a nickel salt containing less than 6, preferably less than 5 molecules of crystal water.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 12, 1985
Date of Patent: July 15, 1986
Assignee: Internationale Octroi Maatschappij "Octropa" B.V.
Inventors: Rudolph O. de Jongh, Cornelis van Dijk
  • Patent number: 4551441
Abstract: A finely divided nickel boride hydrogenation catalyst which is stabilized with an organic linear polymer dispersed in a fatty substance like a triglyceride oil or a fatty amide is provided. The catalyst is stable upon storage and has a good selectivity. This catalyst yields excellent results in hydrogenation processes.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 1984
Date of Patent: November 5, 1985
Assignee: Internationale Octrooi Maatscappij "Octropa" B.V.
Inventors: Cornelis Van Dijk, Rudolph O. De Jongh
  • Patent number: 4399007
Abstract: Process for the selective hydrogenation of polyunsaturated compounds with a metallic catalyst. The selectivity is increased and trans-isomerization is decreased by carrying out the hydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst to which, before the hydrogenation is started, an external potential, differing from the naturally occuring equilibrium potential, is applied while in contact with an electrolyte, such as a quaternary ammonium salt, dissolved in a liquid, such as an alcohol or a ketone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 17, 1981
Date of Patent: August 16, 1983
    Assignee: Lever Brothers Company
Inventors: Albert Froling, Rudolph O. de Jongh, Josephus M. A. Kemps
  • Patent number: 4340698
Abstract: The invention provides powder coatings based on carboxyl terminated polyester, an epoxy compound and a choline compound of the formula[Y-CH.sub.2 -CH.sub.2 -N--CH.sub.3).sub.3 ].sub.n .sup.+ X.sup.n-in which X is OR or ##STR1## and R is H or a C.sub.1-40 group and X.sup.n- is an anion preferably Y represents OH or a ##STR2## group. The powder coatings are less prone to yellowing and non-toxic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 12, 1981
Date of Patent: July 20, 1982
Assignee: Internationale Octrooi Maatschappij "Octropa" B.V.
Inventors: Rudolph O. De Jongh, Adrianus Visser, Robert Van der Linde
