  • Patent number: 6305668
Abstract: A compact lifter is disclosed which lifts a lifting platen by at least one actuating cylinder with a minimum number of posts or guide shafts to guide the platen as it is being lifted to ensure reliability and reproducibility, each of the posts being received by at least a pair of bearings on each post to hold the post steady and true in position during the lifting operation. The lifter can be in constructed in a two post or a four post configuration, among others. An enclosure is disclosed for completely enclosing the working mechanism to prevent environmental contaminants from entering the workings and damaging the machinery.

  • Patent number: 6268574
Abstract: An electrical and/or an electrical and pneumatic lock-out device is disclosed for maintenance work crews to render their maintenance worksites more tamperproof and electrical “jumper”-proof, which provides more safety for their operations. The present lock-out device works with a safety interlock switch which either shuts off the electricity, or, if necessary, simultaneously shuts off the electricity and the pneumatic power system to work cell safety gate electrical systems, as well as electrical and pneumatic machinery and assembly line equipment. The present lock-out device acts to more reliably render work cells and manufacturing equipment inoperable for maintenance operations by maintenance crews as the key to the safety interlock switch is permanently attached to a safety pin to be used for closing a gate or to be inserted into a pneumatic or hydraulic device to prevent the pneumatics or the hydraulics from slipping once the power has been shut off.

  • Patent number: 4563116
Abstract: A tool holder with a coolant inducer and a quick acting locking mechanism is disclosed. The holder body is provided with a tapered bore to receive the tapered shank of a cutting tool. The tapered shank has cam surfaces for engagement with locking pins in the holder body to cam the shank into drive transmitting and fluid-tight engagement with the tapered bore. A locking mechanism locks the tapered shank in the camming relationship with the locking pins and a retaining mechanism holds the mechanism in its locked position. A coolant inducer comprises an inducer ring at the upper end of the holder body and defining a fluid-tight chamber therewith. A fluid conduit is connected through a fitting in the inducer ring to the chamber which communicates with the upper end of the tapered bore in the holder body.
