  • Publication number: 20230359109
Abstract: The present teachings provide a camera housing that includes a first housing portion, a second housing portion, a hinge, a latch mechanism, and protrusions. The first housing portion forms a first portion of a cavity. The second housing portion forms a second portion of the cavity The hinge is located within the first housing portion so that the first housing portion is divided into a first piece and a second piece. The hinge movably connects the first housing portion to the second housing portion so that the second housing portion is movable relative to the first housing. The latch mechanism is movable between an open position and a closed position. The protrusion extend from a third housing portion, and the third housing portion is located opposite the first housing portion with respect to the cavity.

  • Patent number: 10511750
Abstract: A four-sided frame for a camera is disclosed. The four-sided frame includes a first side including a hinge mechanism and a second side having a first segment, a second segment that is separable from the first segment, and a latch mechanism. The four-sided frame includes a third side between the first side and the second side and a fourth side between the first side and the second side. The four-sided frame includes a latch mechanism that couples the first segment to the second segment. In an open configuration of the latch mechanism, the first segment and the second segment are separated to allow insertion or removal of the camera. In a closed configuration of the latch mechanism, a distance between the first segment and the second segment is reduced as compared to the open configuration and the four-sided frame secures the outer perimeter of the camera.

Abstract: A housing for a camera includes a housing body having four adjacent walls forming a band. The camera is compressibly secured within the band, each wall in an adjacent pair of walls is coupled via a rounded corner, and an opening is defined in one wall of the housing body. The opening is configured to allow a user of the camera to access a user interface of the camera when the camera is secured into the housing body. The housing includes a latching mechanism coupling two adjacent walls of the housing body and a mounting mechanism extending from a wall of the housing body and configured to secure the housing to a reciprocal mounting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9930231
Abstract: A camera housing includes a frame having sides configured to secure a camera along an outer perimeter of the camera, one of the sides of the frame including a split within the frame. The camera housing also includes a latch mechanism extending along the frame from a first side of the split to a second side of the split, the latch mechanism operable in a closed configuration and an open configuration. A first distance between the first side of the split and the second side of the split when the latch mechanism is in the closed configuration is less than a second distance between the first side of the split and the second side of the split when the latch mechanism is in the open configuration.

  • Patent number: 9910342
Abstract: A camera includes a camera body having a camera lens structured on a front surface of the camera body and electronics internal to the camera body for capturing images via the camera lens. A thermally conductive material is thermally coupled to the electronics and exposed on an external face of the camera body. The thermally conductive material transfers heat produced by the electronics to the external face of the camera, and a removable heat sink removably couples to the thermally conductive material. The camera further includes a housing structured to at least partially enclose the camera body. The housing is structured to enable at least a portion of the removable heat sink to protrude through the housing.
