  • Patent number: 6216992
Abstract: A sink mounting device includes a weld bracket, a movable clip member and a hanger assembly used to movably couple the clip member to the weld bracket. The weld bracket is secured to a side portion of a sink bowl and the movable clip is used to engage an overhanging portion of the underside of the countertop. The clip includes a base having an axially positioned through-opening, an elongated arm member which extends longitudinally in a direction axially from the base, a projecting finger, which extends laterally from the end of the arm remote from the base, and includes a locating flange which, when the sink mounting device is operated, engages the hanger assembly, weld bracket and/or sink bowl at a limit position to prevent further rotation of the movable arm about the axis.

  • Patent number: 4552171
Abstract: A supply conduit mounting assembly is disclosed for a single lever faucet. In assembled condition, the hot and cold water supply conduits are connected to the valve body of the faucet and rigidly held from movement relative to the valve body by a plate which serves as a structural member for mounting the valve body and connecting the end sections of the supply conduits to the valve body without threaded fittings or brazing. Resilient O-rings associated with the ends of the supply conduits provide a water-tight seal adjacent the junction of the supply conduits and the valve body bores and thereby prevent water from coming into contact with the mounting plate, which may be a low cost die casting of metal which is not required to be corrosion resistant.

  • Patent number: 4387738
Abstract: A spread center faucet for mounting on a sink between spaced hot and cold water valves, the faucet having a continuous, curved spout tube having an inlet fitting at the end of a lower portion and a discharge head at its upper end, a hollow housing having a base member with a flat base section for mounting on the sink and an arched section leading to a discharge tip, and a cover removably secured to said base member by fasteners and defining with said base member an enclosed, elongated curved housing cavity extending from said flat base section to said discharge tip, and locking means within said housing cavity for securing and for orienting said spout tube in said cavity with said discharge head located at said discharge tip and said lower portion projecting from said flat base section of said base member for connection of said inlet fitting beneath said sink to said supply conduits, said locking means including means for clamping said spout tube to said base member.

  • Patent number: 4357957
Abstract: A single lever mixing faucet is disclosed of the type generally used as a household sink faucet. The lever is operated by hand and controls individual diaphragm valves by plungers which are actuated by a cam operated by the lever, the cam having a wedge actuator connected to be moved by the lever in two orthogonally related directions and combinations thereof upon manual movement of the lever. The wedge actuator is mounted for essentially planar movement without rotation and has flat cam surfaces engaging flat ends of said plunger to move the plungers and control the rate of flow of water as well as the relative proportions of hot and cold water.

  • Patent number: 4203464
Abstract: A diaphragm valve for faucet valve assemblies is disclosed. The diaphragm has a thick valve closure portion received in an end recess in a valve plunger, the plunger being nonrotatable and reciprocably mounted in the valve body for movement relative to a valve seat against which the valve closure portion of the diaphragm is held in valve closed position. The valve diaphragm has a thin supporting section extending radially from the valve closure portion which rolls during the stroke of the valve plunger and the end of the valve plunger and the sidewall of the outlet chamber in the valve body provides a continuous surface against which the supporting section of the diaphragm is pressed without being stretched by the pressure of water in the outlet chamber in the valve open position of the diaphragm. In the valve closed position of the diaphragm, the inlet water pressure acts against the diaphragm to enhance the seal at the valve seat.
