  • Patent number: 7157676
Abstract: A device (10) for thermally clamping and releasing tools (11) in shrink-fit chucks (12), having a socket (15) for a shrink-fit chuck (12), a heating unit (16) that can be moved toward and away from the mounted shrink-fit chuck (12), and a cooling unit (20) for cooling the heated shrink-fit chuck (12). The cooling unit (20) has at least one coolant distributor (21, 22) that is capable of moving in relation to the socket (15) with the mountable shrink-fit chuck (12), conveys a preferably fluid coolant, e.g. cooling water, and has outlets (23) for the coolant, which are oriented toward the socket (15) with the mountable shrink-fit chuck (12) and out of which the coolant travels under pressure to act on the outside of the socket (15) with the mountable shrink-fit chuck (12) for cooling purposes (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 6511077
Abstract: A clamping chuck for clamping tools by shrinkage has a chuck body provided with a receptacle for receiving a tool to be clamped with a tool shaft and having an end-side abutment surface for the insertable tool so that during insertion a rear-side shoulder of the tool axially abuts against the abutment surface and a ring element and axially supportable against the chuck body in an axial direction and provided with an abutment surface, the abutment surface of the ring element being located forwardly at an end axially adjoining the abutment surface of the chuck body, to be associated with the shoulder of the tool, for axial clamping of the inserted tool by means of the ring element with respect to the chuck body.

  • Patent number: 6297747
Abstract: A tool holder for holding a tool has at least one sensor for measuring an operating parameter of the tool holder or the tool during the operation thereof and generating measured value signals which are fed to a signal processing unit for evaluation. The sensor is a surface acoustic wave sensor operating according to acoustic wave principles and its measured value signals are readable in a contactless manner by means of radio waves. The surface acoustic wave sensor requires no current supply circuit but instead draws transmission energy required for transmission of the measured value signals to the signal processing unit from a high frequency interrogation signal, that is transmitted by radio waves from the signal processing unit and is received by the surface acoustic wave sensor.
