Abstract: A coin detector having the characteristics of simple structure, low cost and high recognition speed is disclosed to include a housing defining therein a coin passage, and a circuit module, which uses an optical pickup device consisting of an optical module and an analog-to-digital converter to detect the number and pitch of the parallel lines and grooves of the reeded edge of each inserted coin and a microprocessor to determine the authenticity and value of each inserted coin by means of comparing the data of the sensed number of pitch of parallel lines and grooves with a predetermined reference data.

Abstract: A coin detector includes an oscillator circuit using an oscillator for generating a magnetizing signal of a predetermined oscillation frequency and an eddy current sensor for producing an AC magnetic field for sensing the variation of the inductance of an eddy current produced upon passing of a coin, a FM demodulator and an AM demodulator respectively electrically coupled to the oscillator circuit by a respective buffer for demodulating the voltage frequency and voltage amplitude of the oscillation signal outputted by the oscillator circuit, and a recognition logic unit for computing the demodulated FM signal outputted by the FM demodulator and the demodulated AM signal outputted by the AM demodulator by means of using time as a parameter to recognize the authenticity and value of the sensed coin.

Abstract: A bill acceptor for use in an automatic vending machine to accept both cash payment and RFID stored-value card payment is disclosed to include a face panel that has a RFID sensing zone for sensing a RFID value-added card, a bill insertion slot for the insertion of a bill, a display for displaying data and operating buttons for operation by the user, and a bill acceptor body that has a bill passage connected to the bill insertion slot, a bill-transfer roller set for transferring an inserted bill from the bill insertion slot through the bill passage to a bill box and a control circuit module consisting of a microprocessor, a RFID chip, a sensor, a memory, a surveillance device and a clock.

Abstract: A bill acceptor for verifying the authenticity of every inserted bill and accepting every verified bill is disclosed having operating buttons and a video display provided at a face panel for data input and displaying related operating message and data and a sensor zone for sensing a RFID stored-value card by a radio wave to fetch data from the RFID stored-value card and to add value to or deduct value from the RFID stored-value card subject to the operation mode selected by a consumer through the operating buttons.
