  • Patent number: 8406703
Abstract: A portable device has lower and upper casings. A sliding hinge has a stationary frame attached to the lower casing, a sliding frame attached to the upper casing and a resilient positioning assembly mounted between the stationary and sliding frames. The sliding frame has multiple pushing pins protruding toward the stationary frame. The resilient positioning assembly has two sliders and multiple resilient elements disposed between and abutting the sliders. When the upper casing slides relative to the lower casing, the pushing pins move along and push corresponding sliders and pressing the resilient elements. As long as the pushing pins are moved to the other sides of the corresponding sliders, the resilient elements push the sliders back and the upper and lower casings of the portable device are open relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 8325468
Abstract: A sliding hinge is mounted between a cover and a body of an electronic device and has a bracket, a linking panel, a slide and a connecting wire. The bracket is attached securely to the cover. The linking panel is attached securely to the body and is mounted slidably on the bracket. The slide is mounted slidably on the bracket. The connecting wire is wound around a fulcrum of the bracket and respectively connects to the linking panel and the slide. The cable of the electronic device is mounted through the slide. When the cover slides relative to the body, the slide and the linking panel relatively move in opposite directions. Therefore, the cable is folded to keep taut.

  • Patent number: 8305747
Abstract: A rotary hinge for an electronic device with a cover and a body is mounted between a bottom of the cover and a top of the body and has a receiving assembly, a connecting assembly and a retaining assembly. The receiving assembly is connected to the cover. The connecting assembly is connected to the body and is attached pivotally to the receiving assembly. The retaining assembly is connected respectively to the receiving and connecting assemblies to selectively hold the cover at closed and open positions. With only one pivot between the rotary hinge and the cover, part of the body is exposed to allow the input unit being used when the cover is pivoted to open. Regardless of opening or closing the cover, the rotary hinge is hidden to prevent from damaging and foreign matters.

  • Patent number: 8213169
Abstract: A sliding hinge for a portable electronic device has a stationary leaf, a link assembly, a main sliding leaf and a side sliding leaf. The linking assembly is mounted pivotally on the stationary leaf via a pivoting middle. The main and side sliding leaves are connected respectively to two ends of the linking assembly. With the linking assembly, the main and side sliding leaves are moved simultaneously. Therefore, when the portable electronic device is not used, the main and side sliding leaves fully overlap with the stationary leaf to achieve a smallest footprint. When the portable electronic device performs multiple functions, the main and side sliding leaves are slid out to reveal control buttons.

  • Publication number: 20110080082
Abstract: A sliding rail has a stationary base, a slider and two plugs. The stationary base is elongated and has two ends, two opposite edges and two channels defined respectively in the edges, and each channel having a top, a bottom and two open ends respectively at the ends of the stationary base. The slider is mounted slidably on the stationary base and has two edges respectively mounted slidably in the channels in the stationary base. Each edge of the slider has two resilient arms mounted on and protruding obliquely from the edge. Each arm has two ends abutting respectively with the top and the bottom of a corresponding channel in the stationary base. The plugs are mounted respectively on the ends of the stationary base to close the open ends of the channels.
