  • Publication number: 20050044489
Abstract: An image detecting apparatus has an edit function with good operability and compatibility. When a chapter mark key on a remote control is pressed while an image reproducing system including an MPEG video decoder, a video signal post-processing circuit, a combining circuit, and an NTSC encoder is reproducing image data recorded on a recording medium, a CPU obtains information for identifying the image being reproduced and displayed, and then records the information on the recording medium. With reference to the image provided with a chapter mark, a still image generating circuit displays reduced still images, for example, so that a target image can be specified. Reproduction and editing can be performed with reference to the specified image.

  • Patent number: 6590584
Abstract: Image editing method and apparatus which facilitate image editing operation and improve the efficiency thereof by enabling selective use of many editing histories or command strings, used in the past, with ease. A command string used in an editing period for one image is registered as a macro, in correspondence with associated information related to the edited image. When the next image is edited, associated information of registered command strings are displayed, as buttons, in list form. A user can discriminate the contents of the command strings and can visually discriminate a command string appropriate to the currently-edited image by observing the associated information. In response to the user's button selection operation, a corresponding command string is applied to the currently-edited image.

  • Patent number: 6570597
Abstract: An icon display processor for use in a computer permits a user to intuitively recognize sub-data embedded in, or linked to, main data while a main icon symbolizing the main data is being displayed. When data B and C are embedded in document A, if a main icon is displayed, sub-icons corresponding to the embedded data are displayed behind the main icon. Thus, the user can intuitively recognize the sub-data contained in the document A. A sub-icon is displayed for each item or kind of sub-data. The user can directly process the sub-icons.
