    Abstract: A multi-port valve includes a valve housing and a valve core. The valve housing comprises a cylindrical main body defining an inner cavity to rotatably accommodate the valve core and a plurality of ports in fluid communication with the inner cavity. The valve core defines a plurality of flow channels, each extending through a sidewall of the valve core to form two opposite open ends. The valve housing is provided with a guider passage, and the plurality of flow channels include a first flow channel, a second flow channel and a third flow channel. The multi-port valve is operable to be switched between a plurality of work modes in response to the valve core rotating to different positions relative to the valve housing. The first flow channel is connected in series with the second flow channel via the guide passage in response to a first work mode of the plurality of work modes.

    Abstract: A method for numerical reconstruction and heat transfer characteristics evaluation of a microstructure of thermal barrier coatings containing microcracks includes the following steps: determining a simulation area and size settings, generating random microcracks with different morphological characteristics and placing the microcracks in the simulation area, and determining whether a space occupied by the microcracks reaches a porosity ratio of the preset microcracks, building a general pore model of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) based on the QSGS method, reconstructing true mesoscopic morphologies of the TBCs, determining whether the preset volume fraction has been reached, and building a heat transfer analysis model based on the thermal 1,attice Boltzmann method to calculate heat insulation performance parameters such as temperature distribution, and thermal conductivity.

    Abstract: A bubble detection device and a sample processing instrument are provided. The bubble detection device includes a body, a cover and a detection circuit board. The body includes a bottom wall and first and second side walls respectively extending from two sides of the bottom wall. The bottom, first and second side walls define a groove for accommodating a sample pipe of a sample processing instrument, and first and second holes are respectively provided in the first and second side walls to allow light from a light source to pass through the sample pipe. The cover includes a top portion for covering the groove and first and second side portions attached to the body. The detection circuit board includes the light source and a photoelectric sensor and is attached to the body such that they are aligned with the first and second holes respectively to sense intensity of the light passing through the sample pipe. The sample processing instrument includes the bubble detection device.

    Abstract: A class-D RF power amplifier (PA) architecture with duty cycle control has improved power efficiency while suppressing even-order harmonics. An inductor and capacitor (LC) low pass filter (LPF) can also be integrated on-chip to further suppress harmonics and provide impedance transformation between the PA and load. This eases the design for customers and reduce their bill of materials cost. The LPF can also match the PA to the load impedance to improve efficiency. The harmonic levels can also be controlled by adjusting the duty cycle of the PA output.

    Abstract: A digitally modulated polar power amplifier uses a thin-oxide amplifying transistor with a protection diode. The polar power includes a driver amplifier in a driver stage that can receive a phase-modulated signal with a constant envelope and amplify the signal for the output stage, which includes only a single thin-oxide transistor, leading to improved efficiency over systems that require a thick-oxide transistor. A protection diode can be added between the output of the polar power amplifier and the supply voltage to limit the output to the sum of the supply voltage plus the forward voltage of the diode. Amplitude modulation can be achieved through dynamically turning on and off the digital power amplifier via an amplitude control word (acw) input signal.

    Abstract: Semiconductor chips are made increasingly smaller, thanks to improved design techniques and process scaling. Sometimes the bottleneck is not the chip itself but the package size due to many necessary pins. To help reduce the number of package pins, the chip should use less pins by sharing or reusing pins if possible. Therefore, single-ended RF input/output is used for transceiver, and the same pin is shared between RX and TX. A receiver (RX)-transmitter (TX) impedance co-matching method uses multiple bondwires for transceivers sharing one input/output (I/O) pin between RX and TX. The RX input impedance and TX output impedance are transformed closer to each other or even to the same impedance, which makes it possible to get the best RX and TX performance with just one matching network. The chip area is also saved without using on-chip inductors.

In one aspect, an LDPC decoder, includes: means for sorting a plurality of incoming messages of a check node according to magnitudes of the incoming messages; means for identifying a predetermined number of unique message magnitudes from the incoming messages; and means for computing outgoing messages for a subset of the plurality of incoming message, where the messages of the subset have different magnitudes larger than the predetermined number of unique message magnitudes but the outgoing messages are computed to have the same magnitude. In at least one embodiment, the decoder further includes means for computing outgoing messages that have magnitudes equal to any of the predetermined number of unique message magnitudes. In general, the magnitudes computed for all outgoing messages may not necessarily be the same.
