Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for suppressing low frequency oscillation in a power system. The method comprises: determining a system transfer function of an interconnected power system section in which a variable frequency transformer (VFT) is located; determining a damping controller parameters according to the system transfer function; and suppressing low frequency oscillation of the power system by means of the VFT based on the damping controller parameter. The objects of the method, apparatus and system are definite: optimizing the damping controller parameter can be achieved by simply tracking and analyzing the response of the system to disturbance, without the need to understand the configuration and parameters of the system or solve complicated power system equations, which has a better effect in suppressing low frequency oscillation in the power system and is advantageous for improving the safety and stability level of the power grid.

Abstract: Techniques are described for automatically mining query dimensions from web pages resulting from execution of a search query. Lists of items such as words, terms, or phrases are extracted from the web pages based on the recognition of free text, metadata tag, or repeated region patterns within the web page text. Extracted item lists are weighted according to document matching and/or inverse document frequency, and item lists are clustered based on shared or similar items within the lists to generate query dimensions. The generated query dimensions, and the items within each query dimension, are ranked according to quality, and high-quality query dimensions are provided for display alongside top search results.

Specifically, these tools take advantage of a site-relationship model to consider relationships not only between an anchor text source site and a destination page but also relationships between multiple anchor text source sites to improve web searches. Consideration of these relationships aids in determining a new an anchor text weight, which in turn results in more relevant search results.

Abstract: A method and a device for limiting secondary arc current of an extra-high voltage/ultra-high voltage double circuit line on the same tower. The method comprises the following steps: determining the type of a single-phase-to-ground fault when the extra-high voltage/ultra-high voltage double circuit line on the same tower has a single-phase-to-ground fault (S501); selecting a reactance value of a neutral grounding reactor according to the type of the single-phase-to-ground fault (S502); and switching the extra-high voltage/ultra-high voltage double circuit line on the same tower to the selected reactance value of the neutral grounding reactor (S503). Thus the reactance value of the neutral grounding reactor is not constant, but is changed along with the operating conditions of the power transmission line, that is, the reactance value of the neutral grounding reactor is controllable.

Abstract: Computer-readable media, computer systems, and computing devices facilitate enhancing a web index with uniform resource locator (URL)/non-encoding character (NEC) word pairs to facilitate relevance ranking of search results provided in response to a search query that includes NEC words. URLs are received from web pages and substrings extracted therefrom. Additional elements are received from the web page, word-broken into sequences of NEC words, and the NEC words are converted into encoding-language representations which are matched against the URL substrings to identify candidate URL/NEC pairs for utilization in relevance ranking.

Such data wrappers can be used to interact with source documents, crawl a network for additional data, map data from across domains, and/or synchronize data from dynamic Web documents.

Abstract: Described is a technology for efficiently labeling a webpage. A wrapper tool labels records of a webpage at the record level. If an existing wrapper exists that is appropriate for labeling a record, the wrapper tool automatically labels that record. For unlabeled records, the tool provides a user interface to label those records, and updates the set of existing wrappers with a new wrapper that is generated based upon the labeling operation; the new wrapper is then applied to any unlabeled records if appropriate for those records. As a result, a user typically needs only to label a relatively few records, with the wrappers generated for those records automatically used to label the other unlabeled records of the webpage.

Abstract: A method and system for generating wrappers for hierarchically organized documents by jointly optimizing template detection and wrapper generation is provided. A wrapper generation system generates a wrapper for documents with similar templates by identifying a cluster of document trees and generating a wrapper tree for the cluster. A wrapper tree defines the wrapper for documents that match the template of the cluster. The wrapper generation system clusters document trees by generating a wrapper tree for the cluster based on an initial document tree. The wrapper generation system then repeatedly determines whether any other document tree matches or nearly matches the wrapper tree for the cluster and, if so, adds the document tree to the cluster and adjusts the wrapper tree as appropriate so that all the document trees, including the newly added one, match the wrapper tree.

Abstract: A method and system for determining relevance of a document to a query based on identifier match distance is provided. The relevance system analyzes a training set of queries and documents to determine the relationship between identifier match distance and relevance of a document to a query. The identifier match distance indicates the distance from the end of an identifier of a document to an identifier term that matches a query term. The relevance system generates a prior relevance probability that a document with a certain identifier match distance is relevant to a query. The relevance system uses the prior relevance probabilities to determine relevance of documents to queries based on identifier match distance.

Abstract: Categorizing page block functionality to improve document layout for browsing is described. In one aspect, document content is analyzed with respect to multiple block function criteria. Results of this analysis are used to assign a respective block function to blocks of the document content. These block function assignments are used to generate one or more customized document layouts for browsing by a user.
